Because there are no notifications when someone applies to be put on the rankings. You have to manually check every once in a while when you think about it and it's never been something in my personal normal habits.

I also sift through the applications every time I can remember. I can make this part of my routine when I browse the rankings each day instead of doing it sporadically. This particular app was like 5 days in, not AGES, per se. But point taken.

Have you received any email since you submitted the join form? Maybe the email address was incorrect.

When an account is accepted an email with a temp password is sent. If you haven't received that, try here: http://rankings.the-elite.net/account/reset

If that doesn't send anything, then its a) wrong email submitted, b) bug in the code or c) you have some really strict spam filters.

Isn't there a better way to do this? My brother once tried joining the ranks and got ignored as well. There must be some way of automising this process.. If Elon Musk and Tesla Motors can be on the verge of engineering fully automised electric vehicles surely we can make it easier for new eliters to make a rankings account.

Your brother (James) was never ignored. Thiradell approved him on Jan 2, 2014. http://rankings.the-elite.net/~James+Szklarz. He used a hotmail-address. Guess he thoroughly never checked all his inboxes.

Automising the process may sound like a good idea but doing that would only lead to more trolls/fake accounts.

Jimbo gets sole credit for processing new player applications on the staff page which is a bit inaccurate. Consequently, he should not be solely responsible for this incident. Trouble, dsx and myself also approve (and sometimes reject) pending users.

Like Jim said, you get no notifications when someone applies and I think a good solution would be if every rankings moderator would receive a notification automatically instead of manually checking the pending users page every once in a while.

They are pretty slow to respond sometimes, but spamming your application generally gets you declined.

Was concerned it didn't go through as I've seen notifications that other people have joined the rankings after I applied.

i've been accepting accounts all the time, its not even a problem. this guy has 2 accounts on the rankings already but is just having password issues.
