If a player achieved the best time that does not require proof on every PD stage, they would have 3246 points and be in 37th place.

Time for May monthly statistics:

How did this month compare to previous months in the year?

How did it compare with these months of the previous year?

What levels were the most points gained on?

Distribution of records by players in GE. y-axis is the number of records and the number above each bar is the number of points gained (including 0-60 point times):

Distribution of records by players in PD:

Number of records posted daily for both games:

How many 60+ point times have been proven in each game?

Most commonly used words in comments from records posted in May:

Most common words used in the Discord lobby:

May post some more later.

Some statistics for GE & PD activity. Unless otherwise specifically mentioned, these are all for June 2018.

Number of records posted for each game. GoldenEye has more or less been the same, but there's been a ~150% increase in the number of PD records.

Comparing this to last year. You can compare the June bars to see how the first month of Fantasy League fared.

Total points gained for each month by all players:

Popular levels for point gains:

Statistics for players who achieved at least 1 60+ time in GoldenEye. The number on the y-axis is the number of new PRs achieved, and the number above the bar is how many points they gained.

Statistics for players who achieved at least 1 60+ time in Perfect Dark. The number on the y-axis is the number of new PRs achieved, and the number above the bar is how many points they gained.

Percentage of proven 60+ times in both games:

Number of records posted per day for each game:

Number of records posted per day for June, and the previous 2 months.

Popular words used in comments when posting records. One team appears to be very popular...

Motivated by this thread.

As of today, 11 out of the 15 3:00 club members have more PD points than GE points (73%). Out of the 43 3:30 club members, 35 have more PD points (81%).

He'll get Runway SA 22 eventually. Imagine if he learned how to r-lean, he'd turn a good chunk of those ties into wins and losses into wins/ties.

If anything this shows how good a player Luke is. To only be -8 to arguably the best player to ever play the game is amazing.

It's possible to be in the 3:30 club with no points.

Not only possible but you could have a total rare time of 3:23:19 and be ranked 37th in time and still have 0 points. Rank-wise you'd be ahead of strong PD players such as Otto. I remember when the pointless times first got below 3:30; crazy to think we've cut over 6½ minutes since then.

Here are some statistics regarding the average number of WR ties per world record for every level since WRs have been logged - something I titled as the Total WR density. So for example, the density of Dam Agent would be quite high since despite being current record being untied, all of 0:53, 0:54 and 0:55 had over 30 ties each. Can you guess which levels in both games have the highest and lowest WR density?

This shows how many 80+ point times have been set from end of June 2012 to end of July 2018 for each stage and difficulty for each game. Totals for each difficulty for both games is on the right side.

There's 4 main variables that affect the #s for this I would say.
1. How frequent does the level have strat changes forcing top players to play the level again?
2. How many total hours does the level get played?
3. How difficult is the worst 80+ point time threshold for the level?
4. How much luck is required to even have a chance at 80+ point time?

We could do like a monthly thing for this as it's pretty interesting to see how active levels are at the highest level of gameplay.

Great stats, but I think you should work a bit on the presentation next time (it is slightly hard to read with the count on the left side of the levels in particular).

Where do you get this information from? Can you pull it directly from the database page or do you get it from the rankings history?

Decided to manually figure out who had killed the most World Records (after Karl mentioned it on his stream) instead of doing uni work. I used the rarewrs all records page, but omitted all SZ times. Numbers also don't count when a player killed their own WR. NOTE: Might be some inaccuracies because I did it manually, but I think it's all correct.

Here's the graph:

Here's 80 point tables for GE and PD. This is a similar format to what the pointless time rankings use. I included Duel for PD to keep the total time in line.

Members of GE's 80 point club:
Daniel Coelho (87)
Bryan Bosshardt (85)

Members of PD's 80 point club:
Sim Threat (90)
Big Bossman (90)
Perfect Ace (81)
Greenounet (81)

I'd like to know about the history of Perfect Sweeps (what I call a regular sweep plus a D/LTK sweep, doesn't necessarily have to be untied, but cooler if it is (untied Perfect sweep?)).
I know Boss had one in PD not too long ago, untied at that!
90+ hrs into XC2 NG+, going for 100%. Be back when I get bored.

Note that (from what I can tell) this is referring to untied perfect sweeps, not perfect sweeps.

GOLD, SILVER, BRONZE and WHITE stats
This document shows how many "solid" times the current top 25 players (in points) have.
Time in GOLD is a WR or UWR
Time in SILVER is the 2nd best time of the level
Time in BRONZE is the 3rd best time of the level
Time in WHITE is the 4th best time or worse

Some examples:
S1 1:02 is a GOLD time, 1:03 is SILVER, 1:04 is BRONZE, 1:05, 1:06, 1:07 etc... is WHITE
Train Agent 0:57 is GOLD, 0:59 is SILVER, 1:00 is BRONZE, but if someone get 0:58, 1:00 will become WHITE and 0:59 will be BRONZE, or if Henrik get 0:56, 0:57 will become SILVER and 0:59 BRONZE
Frigate 00A 1:05 is GOLD, 1:07 is SILVER, 1:08 is BRONZE, if someone gets 1:06, 1:07 will become BRONZE and 1:08 will become WHITE.

The best player is not necessarily the one who have the most GOLD times, but the one who have the least WHITE times, for example:
Karl have 25 WR's and Luke have 20 of them, but Luke have 28 SILVER, 6 BRONZE and only 6 WHITE / Karl have 7 SILVER, 7 BRONZE and 21 WHITE. That's why Luke is ahead of Karl.
The same thing happens when you compare Gus to Jimbo or Goose to Boss.

This document is from 23/10/2018 - I did it manually so there might be some mistakes, i will update it every time someone gets a new PB, so this board might change a lot in the next few months.

The Elite Compendium

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1mhjavhbpId7zTSDT5R6NjvZ59jybXlL0WeLQFqDcmjY/edit?usp=sharing

A document containing preferences of Eliters, specifically control style, grip style, upright/reverse, full/wide/cinema, and whether they use a dot. The names are in the order that they filled out the survey, and then those that I recovered information for later. If you would like to search for a specific entry, simply use the CTRL+F command to do so. I would like to maintain this and keep it up-to-date as long as I am around. If you have not already filled out the survey, please fill it out at the link below, and I will update the sheet.

https://goo.gl/forms/yCCeDdl38Ps0Lrjl2

If you see any information that is incorrect, or you change your preferences as you continue to play, please let me know and I will update the sheet. I have gone through old forum posts to find some of the information present, and it's possible if you didn't fill out the survey that what is on the spreadsheet is incorrect. The biggest lack of information at the moment comes from high level PD players especially, but also Top 40 GE players. Whatever information you can hunt down is greatly appreciated, and will be added to the sheet.

After removing the troll entries, these are the graphs representing the data for the 81 entires as of the original post.

At the request and interest of Lark, I looked a bit farther into the Upright/Reverse look preference. Using only the entries to the survey and only referencing profile pages of players that posted their age (with the exception of those such as Andrew Wash who according to his page is 1 year old), I calculated the average age and average year of joining the Elite Rankings for Upright vs. Reverse.

Upright Players ----- Avg. Age 22.8 Years Old ----- Avg. Join Year 2016.3

Reverse Players ----- Avg. Age 25.7 Years Old ----- Avg. Join Year 2013.2

Keep in mind that the majority of responses to the survey came from those who joined the rankings in either 2017 or 2018, and no responses to the survey that fit the above criteria for an Upright Player in these calculations joined before 2013.

This is how Boss' timespage looked like on April 2nd 2004 when Wouter briefly removed his timespage.
Pretty sure this is the closest anyone will ever be from 6000 points and 60/60 WR

Second place in points was Jimbo with 5710 points (284 points behind)

Bryan Bosshardt WR's

Agent: 19 (11)
Secret Agent: 20 (14)
00Agent: 19 (14)
Total: 58 (39)

Graham Morris (2nd person with the most WR's at the time)
Agent: 8 (1)
Secret Agent: 2 (0)
00Agent: 1 (0)
Total: 11 (1)

Used this to make the spreadsheet: https://web.archive.org/web/20040402092039/http://www.the-elite.net:80/GE/elite.htm
In the linked timespage, Boss doesn't appears to have the S2 Agent WR, but he literally got it the same day that this was saved on the Internet Wayback Machine (probably a few hours later).

Using Icy's list of previous untied sweeps, and the "Past Records" feature on the rankings, it seems that this is the first time in Elite history that there hasn't been at least one untied sweep in either game on the rankings.

Here's a short list covering all of the dates since July 26th, 1998, the earliest day available on record.

11/18/18 - 12/11/16 Karl Maian SOS

Here's an updated version of the longest consecutive UWR reigns list I posted back in April, as the longest standing reigns for each game at the time (Train A and Infiltration SA) have ended. Other than that, Chicago A has also been tied by future dual champ Joris Quevedo while Attack Ship A keeps climbing the ranks. The only other changes are Ace's ongoing Control reigns entering the Top 10.

* means that a reign consists of multiple UWRs.

Trivia:

Deep Sea LTK is a tier 6 but Deep Sea DLTK tier 7.
WAR! LTK is a tier 7 but WAR! DLTK is tier 8.

Infiltration LTK was historically an infamously hard (and underplayed) level, made much easier thanks to Icy with modern strats, hence its tier 8 status.

CI Defense DLTK, a tier 4 difficulty level has, based on the tier list, surprisingly many completions - 12 in total - compared to other levels (such as Rescue DLTK, a tier 8, a level with only 11 completions).

Skedar Ruins DLTK (historically hard/underplayed) has few completions (9 in total) despite its low tier of 8.

Number of players ranked in Goldeneye LTK/DLTK: 197

Number of players ranked in Perfect Dark LTK/DLTK: 85

Total number of LTK/DLTK PRs submitted on the rankings: 1814+891 = 2705

Project:
I wrote a python program to scrape the date information from some common (non current-wr, other than runway A 22) times to see how many were achieved over time. Here is the excel document I used to create the charts, and [redacted] is the python program I wrote to scrape the date information from the site (incidentally, the uploaded version is set up to scrape date info for all Cradle Agent 34's). Linked in case you want to mess around with the data I gathered, or the program itself.  If you’ve got a suggestion for a better file sharing site, let me know.

The program isn’t at all elegant, as it requires manual changes of the source code to get info on different levels, and does some ugly string parsing of the xml, but it works.  It’s actually quite quick to edit manually when you know what to look for.  I plan to make it more user-friendly and generally useful in future, but this is what I've got for now.

Data for charts gathered: 9 December, 2018

Reasoning:
I was interested in the impact Karl’s untieds on 3 of the boring 4 had on the speed at which those (boring 4) times were achieved by players (note: without info on how many new players are joining included, the data here isn’t altogether meaningful, but it’s interesting to see the trends nonetheless).   The impact of the untieds will become clearer in the next few years, especially when viewed alongside the number of new joins and trends of other common times, but I went ahead and made this now for fun.

Further Explanation:
I’ve added a few more common times as well as the boring 4 times so that those trends can be compared to the 3 boring 4 times that were untied.

I plan on possibly drilling more recent data from this (particularly Bunker 1, which was untied in late 2018) down into quarters, or perhaps months, in order to better see the impact of the untieds on the boring 4 times, but I’ve only charted the data on a year-by-year basis for now.

Findings:
A slowdown in the rate of Dam 53s and Archs 16s between 2017 and 2018 is clear from the charts, with the rest of these 'easy' times trending upwards in that timeframe (part of the B1 17 trend upwards can be explained by the recent discovery of the 2.4 strat on the level, and part by the fact that 16 wasn't achieved until September, 2018). Given the trends of the other times, which indicate growth of the site as a whole, I think there would've been upticks from 2017 to 2018 for all of these times, if they weren't untied, and that's sort of what I was hoping, and expecting, to see.  It certainly makes logical sense that newly untied, non-wr times are tied less, but it's nice to see the data to back it up.

Charts Below: (Messy on mobile because of the spoiler tag, but I prefer that to adding 8 images to the thread outright)

Spoiler
Boring 4:

Dam Agent 53

Archives Agent 16

Bunker 1 Agent 17(New 2.4 strat found in late 2018)

Runway Agent 22

Others:

Depot Agent 26 or Lower

Cradle Agent 34 or Lower (16 33's from 2018)

Runway SA 23

Surface 2 Agent 47 (46 Achieved 8 July 2018)

If anyone wants to see a chart for a certain time, let me know, and I’ll be happy to create it, or you can run the program yourself, if you wish. Not sure if something similar has been done before, but this was a pretty nice learning experience, either way.

Continued:
I have continued working on the python program from my last post and have made some fairly serious improvements.

The program is now set up to have the capability to pull all times and date information from a given level, between two given point values, for a given difficulty (or combination of difficulties) (e.g. The excel file included in the github has the data for all times for all levels between 60 and 100 points.) The program is currently set up to pull data for personal best times only, I may add functionality to scrape information from non-pb times in future, though I'm not sure what I would do about the point values of those times.

I am planning to add a user interface for the program sometime soon, and am planning on gathering data for all personal best times currently worth points at the end of the year.

Update:
PD personal bests worth >60 points added to the excel document. Included standalone excel link.

Couple notes:

1. You can more easily get the time IDs for a given stage from the data bundle that builds the level page, for example, https://rankings.the-elite.net/ajax/stage/4/ -- no need to repeatedly go back and forth between the rankings table and the individual times pages.

2. If you're going to pass around stuff like this publicly for others to use, I think it would be a good idea to include a delay between requests by default to avoid getting blocked by the server for making too many requests in a short period of time. Maybe you already have, I didn't look that closely, but it is just a note for everyone.

3. If you have a clear, concise, ongoing data request, it would be a good idea to follow the steps in the Site Suggestions thread to request them in the rankings issue tracker.

What does each parameter represent? Some are obvious, but some aren't.

Fair enough.

Will edit out the github link for now and include a delay between requests if i run the program again myself, my slow net made the program click through the website at a relatively human-like rate, i think, (a human not interested in reading the pages, but not blindingly fast, by any means), so it didn't seem too ridiculous when it was running on my machine.

The main thing i really did to slow the program down was to force a level selection so that it wouldn't go through the whole site at once, which certainly slowed down my data collection, but i wouldn't have felt as comfortable sharing (or using) a version that went through the whole site automatically. It was really just a little project i did for fun that i wanted to share. The main point was to get the data to share in the first place, and I've pretty well got what i wanted for now.  I don't expect many people who couldn't write the program themselves would be able to run it, as is, without a bit more work than most would be willing to put in (i wouldn't have shared an executable, if python worked that way), but i totally get where you're coming from.

Thanks for the ajax link, that certainly would've made things easier if i had it before, but less fun.
