Earlier this year, during the situation where Marc Rutzou removed many of his proof videos, including his Dam SA 116 and 00A 155, the old dinosaurs were completely chased from the elite leaving Jimbo in absolute control of the elite as an administrator, and chairman of the council.
One of Jimbo's first moves was to completely revamp the council. In doing so, he removed all the old, irrelevant members and replaced them with new, competent, relevant, active players. The first eight members were an easy choice, but the ninth was between Ace and I. Jimbo openly discussed his thought process as he was making it, in Discord.
Because of the urgency of acting upon a lot of chaos, and the difficulty in choosing between Ace and I, I voluntarily told Jimbo to put Ace as the 9th member of the council and leave me out, under a few conditions.
The conditions were that 1) the council would be publicly viewable by all members, and 2) for every council thread, there would be a mirror subforum and thread where anyone could publicly post about the current situation being dealt with by the council. I had put my ego aside for the betterment of the community, in hopes that we would have more transparency from the decision makers - something we did not have for the previous 17 years of this community. Jimbo explicitly agreed with these conditions through method of written contract in Discord immediately, and added Ace as the final member of the nine-man council.
Unfortunately Jimbo did not meet these conditions, thus my sacrifice was for nothing. I was deceived and lied to. But even now I am still willing to forgive.
Currently, we have an ongoing council situation about Ace's cropped videos, missing the bottom 17% of game footage. It is a direct conflict of interest for Ace to act on a matter that involves him personally. Council members should also be held to the highest standards and one might argue that any matter involving a decision on their poof quality should immediately disqualify them from serving on the council.
On top of all this, Ace has been indisputably the worst, meanest, nastiest person on the forums for the past several months and should be punished for his misdeeds in some way.
So, should we go back to April 2016 when Jimbo was deciding to institute Goose or Ace as the final member of the council, remove Ace from the choice (because of his conflict of interest and behaviour) and add in Goose as the 9th member of the council?
