Hey guys. Every 10 months, I post this poll to gauge the community's opinion on what they think is the better game. Every year the score varies, but PD's been the community's choice for the past 2 years!

So vote! Feel free to make a post justifying your choice as well! :)

Going back to ge is like having super fast net them going back to dialup

hah

I mean now i can punch a skedar and land in its head
Cant do that in ge

ge mechanics way too restricted
cant do shit

Pd you can still be creative

yeah

And so many untieds available
Its cooked
Almost every level
Skill ceiling is way higher
Actually some levels the ceiling is so higher the max wont be reached

more degrees of freedom yea
pd has more depth and still has heaps to be discovered

In GE there's just too many boring levels where nothing special happens. In PD it's the opposite. So definitely PD for me.

Pausing dark has too much timer abuse and buffering to be interesting to me. Goldeneye half the levels are dull unfortunately. Twine has 1 interesting level. Mario Kart is too slow. Project Nesquik for best speed game

This "too much pause buffering in PD" meme needs to end

How many times must Karl and I explain how these pause buffers are an ART that you can only appreciate when you've played the game

Also, we won the poll again

Where's the competition and activity for this so-called superior game? The PR/WR log on the rankings page speaks for itself.
Embrace the grind.

activity has not that much correlation with whether the game is better or not though (see: doom :nesquik:)

GE is game that is more nostalgic to more people and it came out 3 whole years earlier. because of the compounding effect of more activity yielding more activity, the game just naturally became the more prestigious of the two and the default flagship of the-elite

also, GE levels are way shorter and easier to pick up on average which makes a big difference as well

Whether pause buffering has its merits as a strategy or not is irrelevant. I think Alex's premise is that it isn't pleasant to play. Kinda weird as well that the point of the thing is to go fast, meanwhile you freeze the timer compulsively at times.

This subject made me think of a weird, mixed-game rankings table that complies only the best levels of a group of games. I wonder how that would be like.

I think Ace's point is that pausing in the vast majority of cases in PD is neither unpleasant or compulsive.
Even if you find the idea repulsive, there are plenty of levels you don't have to pause at all.

Maybe people who complain about pausing in PD are GE players who aren't familiar with this? There are a couple of stages where pausing is a thing, otherwise IMO it never was nearly as bad as endlessly waiting for nades etc. But then again, I never really gave GE a shot so this is a completely useless post :nesquik:

Thanks for reading
