Any one know any good methods to grease your stick?
« on: July 25, 2017, 12:52:31 am »
I just bought my n64 like 13 days ago and I've pretty much played 5 hours a day on goldeneye since i got it and my stick isn't as smooth anymore, when ever I go up left/up right on the stick its takes more force then going left, right, down or up and isnt as smooth as it was before. And its an official controller not a Chinese one off ebay

I used ceramic grease for a bit of lube for a few years, im currently out, but it seems to help slow the wear down.

Whatever you do, do NOT use WD40 / any petroleum based products / silicone grease.

I've been using just a tiny bit of liquid vaseline. It works but it's kinda tricky, you don't want to put too much or it might get on the analog board and mess up the dead zone, it doesn't actually do any damage but it's really annoying, cleaning it up seems to fix it for me.

It seems to last for a very long time

Clean it out, Vaseline can dissolve/erode plastic so don't risk it

I've been using just a tiny bit of K-Y Jelly. It works but it's kinda tricky. You don't want to use too much or it might get on your analog board and lessen your sensitive zone. It doesn't actually do damage, but it's really annoying.

I seem to last for a very long time.
Embrace the grind.
