Strange moving shot in Aztec (looking for answers)
« on: April 20, 2018, 07:29:47 pm »
Was told to post here, so here I am.

I was playing Aztec Agent.  I was just fooling around after a failed run.  But then this weird shot happened.  This shot has happened to me before but I wasn't recording (and who'd listen to the crazy noob without proof).  Well, here it is (at 1:00):

https://youtu.be/YvfP6Mu2cWM

Quality note:
Sorry about the quality.  The VCR I use has a great recording function, but horrible read function.  If I care enough about a run, I will put it in a 'good' VCR and record that.  The 'good' VCR freezes up for weeks on end and wont eject tape unless a blue moon occurs or you have all night to keep plugging it in and pulling it out.  Common problem with it's model.

hit the guard's foot?

This would be my guess as well. Its hard to tell how far his foot + hitbox can extend with the mainframe in the way.

Time was untied when set.

I'm unsure if his foot can extend that far... this is inspiring me to think about a "5 MORE Unexplained Things Seen While Speedrunning Goldeneye" video.

Well the right foot was definitely going back towards where he shot and the angle is hard to tell while zoomed in. But yeah definitely strange.

The video on wyst3r YouTube shows that his back foot can reach that spot where the bullet hit.  His gait animation dictates it hit his left leg.  Just strange that his angle of the guard  in my video wasn't completely parallel to the door like in Wyst3r video and still got hit.  Or at least the angle didn't seem that way.  Thanks for looking into it.  Hitboxes should not be questioned.
