Help on getting some N64 controllers.
« on: May 09, 2018, 04:39:03 pm »
I am trying to get a couple of extra controllers. I thought I had snagged a bargain, but ended up getting a knockoff controller that causes bond to run to the left… Doh!

I was going to buy a couple more, but I thought it might be a good idea to get some recommendations from the Goldeneye Elite:
This is what I was going to get:

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Official-Nintendo-Blue-Controller-N64/dp/B00002STFZ/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1525897912&sr=8-6&keywords=N64+controller

As always, any help would be appreciated.

I tend to get my controllers from eBay, as sellers will often mention if the stick is tight or not.

Thanks for the help Slugg.

I’m guessing you didn’t get any sarcastic comments about the stiffness of the sellers sick? As I’m looking to get a couple controllers by next weekend, do you think amazon is ok?

Hahaha surprisingly not.
Amazon is going to be hit or miss. You could either get a barely used controller, or one that was used rotate the stick 100,000x in Mario Party. If you really want a controller by this weekend & you're willing to get another one if it doesn't end up being up to your standards later on, I'm sure you'll be fine for now either way :) If you're going to go that route, the one you linked should be fine. One of the buying options for 27 Pounds says its boxed and in fantastic condition, so that would be my pick.

Ebay works the best just read the description to make sure the stick is tight. Also make sure its an offical n64 one, the cheap knockoffs have way higher sensitivity. Alot of knock offs dont have nintendo written in the oval on the top of the controller. Hope this helps! Also go for the solid color ones theyre cheaper!
