Curly's journey
« on: June 02, 2018, 06:47:50 PM »
So I got a new AV cable today, which is a fair landmark as previously I had a crappy one with the washed out whites problem that plagued PAL N64s for years.

Enthused to play with my nice clean picture, I got through a bit more of the single player game, up to Deep Sea.

Also investigated my capture capabilities..  I've got an old dvd-r and enough of the right cables to start capturing on that, just need a disc! Do plan to get a capture card but only so much money to go round.

Psyked to play again tomorrow, want to reach the end of single player, and goal is to get one noteworthy run before the end of this month.

I thought I stumbled onto a thread from 2004 but I was wrong.

Highly recommend splitting your signal before passing it through a DVD recorder. Many, many models were susceptible to introducing massive lag between your console and the screen.

You can test it out without (some models are going to be fine) but if you are brand new you might not notice the lag and you'll play for months without realizing how much of a handicap you have.
