what if we got 5 cart converters and 2 of each GE version, then split up all the carts so we have a mega converter jp/us/pal cart hybrid and then we won't have version differences anymore

Sorry we aren't all intj geniuses, we just "only" have a collected thousands of hours playing the game. We tried to add to this thread with everything we possibly could, helping gather all knowledge and reason for preference that even if some could be myths, at least someone could once and for all bust the myths or prove them right. But no, the OP doesn't care about that, only wants information he's too lazy to find himself, and information that probably isn't even out there period. Most things he wants is not measurable in his scientific method, and if that's all we can add to this thread then just bin it because there's nothing else to mention based around his terrible specifications. Could've had a healthy discussion and sorted out the myths/preferences from the measurable, for the sake of more info and let people believe what they believe, but no he'd rather be a dipshit. That's fine, you don't even post to the elite, and clearly don't give a shit so frankly we don't care. We are very helpful to those with the right attitude. Aka not kooks like you
Okay, maybe he's shooting himself in the foot by being so hyperfocused. But I think he's shown enough interest in the thread that he genuinely just doesn't get it and isn't just trying to troll or be an asshole. When you join a new community maybe the idea of myths and unmeasurable facts seems daft and sounds more like woowoo to a newcomer.

Yeah, he's probably being overly neurotic, and if he wants to make the thread overly dry, that's his problem, we can create an Official Myth(busting) Thread and let this one die, but I think so much of the community being so hostile must be incredibly discouraging, especially if he is just curious rather than antagonistic- and now there's so much bad blood that everyone is just doubling down. I believe everyone here has the same goal in mind, and I see no reason why we can't be civil with each other.

This thread seems like a really good idea as a quick reference for everyone, repository of known facts, and also a place to do some concrete investigation.

But it seems to have gone off the rails a bit and it looks like the moderators have even been involved.

How about we:

1. Reassign the OP to someone who is interested in maintaining a nice collection of information in it going forward

2. Remove the off-topic stuff

Do we have any volunteers to take over the OP? I can reassign it for you so you can edit it as if you had made the post in the first place.  Boss? Icy? Wyst3r? Someone else? (Grav's already a mod so he doesn't need it...)

I don't empathize with OP for being such a despicable human being that he had to make an alt-username based off a Siglemic alt-username I mentioned in a recent video, just so that he could "trick" people into thinking he's a newcomer to the community, so they would respond to him.

This is a sick individual we are dealing with, and someone who should be admitted to a mental hospital or prison.  Not someone we should be engaging with on the elite forum.  His times should be removed permanently from the rankings, or at the very least, marked with XX initials, and he should be IP banned from every facet of the internet.

I did extensive testing with a gameshark timer on b1 agent. Jap was consistently faster getting into the 2nd pause because the 1st quickpause is consistently quicker.

It is logical to assume my claims are backed by testing given my past methodology and the fact that I use data and evidence to back up claims.

I empathise with the OP for naively thinking he could have an intellectual debate in this community without people getting upset and defensive.

That's awesome and adds some good knowledge for the general community.
If I or anybody but you would've said that without any vids or hard data, he would've shat on it.

Give Icy or Werster the thread, they're sure to do it justice

Hi Karl

I vaguely remember there being a video showing that the pauses were better, if there is can you link it in this topic as it must of been buried somewhere in other thread. it would be good to see how much quicker it is

Thanks

If no one else steps up, I could OP this. I don't know much about this topic other than the clearly PAL levels and the clearly NTSC levels though, so I'd need some tips from more experienced players.

2. Remove the off-topic stuff

Don't you dare deleting our posts  In any case. In this case, they're of archival value on why myths persist in GE.

I'm pretty sure he just means the tit for tats between people. I think if we want to make this into a productive resource for people there is a good case for keeping it on topic and easy to navigate for people in future.

Heres an idea how about we watch every single run ever done on every version of the game, and add up every boost. Then just divide the number of boosts by the number of runs and well have the adverage boost ratio per run per version? Of course this doesnt take into account backboost but its a sure fire way to have a scientific method and we wont have to rely on unprovable things like player experiences!
