« on: August 27, 2018, 04:27:05 am »
Our League: http://football.fantasysports.yahoo.com/league/th3_elite/

Advanced Stats/Youse Stuff: https://bryou.se/ffs/2018.511566/
(luckiest teams, strength of schedule, record versus the entire league, closest games, etc)

Settings this year are the same as 2017 (except with the addition of one more IR spot to help with the injury bug): standard scoring, 3 WRs plus a Flex position, standard snake draft which we're currently shooting to run Saturday afternoon, starting at 4pm Eastern.  If you're in but that time doesn't work out for you let us know!
---

League Dues: $10 entry fee paypaled to ngamer AT google mail service.com, Super Bowl winner takes the whole pot

(going to go with the same setup as last year: if you haven't paid up by week 3 you're out of the money aka the pot would go to the second place team if you finish first)

Here's some fun facts about last season, as a refresher!

FAST FACTS
- this is Neo's 14th year of Elite Fantasy (has been playing since our second season in 2004) and his first Championship (or podium finish, for that matter)
- QB would have tied Come for the most Elite Championship rings with 3, but came up a little short
- on the plus side he stays top three for Podium Finishes by earning his sixth.  he still trails Ngamer (who advances to 7) and Come with 8

- Neo sits the iron throne despite 9 of his 10 players underperforming against expectations in the Super Bowl.  that's possible when you have a player on your team named...
- Todd Gurley.  TG's combined stats in Neo's wins over QB and Ng: 186 receiving yards, 270 rushing yards, and 6 touchdowns.  yikes!

- Ng's Score Squad must have done something to make the fantasy football gods frown upon them. They finished in sixth place in the regular season with a record of 6-7, yet ranked third in the league in points per game with 99
- Yahoo for the win!  In his two playoff matches Neo earned 97% and 95% of his points from players he autodrafted
- Neo's 149 pts against Ng in the playoffs was the 2nd highest score of the season (trailing only QB's W9), and his 79 points from running backs set a new all time Fantasy record
- Neo is the league's biggest Baller this season (projected for 4th place, finished 1st).  QB is the Overachiever (proj 7th, finished 2nd), Nate was the Slacker (proj 3rd, finished 9th), and Shep was named Class Clown (proj 9th, finished 10th)
- Record against the entire league for this season's Top Four: 59-77 for Qwec, 71-65 for Ngamer, 83-50 for Neo, 101-32 for QB

- QB's 9 straight wins before the Super Bowl upset set a new Elite WR for longest streak.  with a Super Bowl win he would have tied Clark's 2011 run for the most wins in a season with 14, but had to settle for 13
- Qwec's nailbiter 0.10 victory over wiff in W6 was the closest game in Elite history
- Neo had the easiest games this season (89 pts for his opponents) while Nate faced the toughest competition (102 pts per game)
- Spike set a new all time Fantasy record with 27 points from his kicker in W4 (including 7 FGs, also a new record)
- Qwec's defense scored an absurd 11 pts a game for him, just off of Third's WR of 12 set in 2012
- Neo tied the all time record by scoring -4 pts with his defense in Week 4
- Neo's 10 touchdowns to knock Ng out of the playoffs was impressive, but not quite the WR.  fittingly enough that was set by Ngamer, who scored 12 to defeat Neo back in 2014
- Neo scored 0 touchdowns in W6, only the second time that has been accomplished (Neo also did it once in 2013)
- QB's 224 rushing yards per game this year was amazing, but wiff was a little bit better in 2013 (230 yards per game)
- Shep set a new record in W13 that I doubt will ever be topped, racking up an astonishing -3 combined yards from his running backs

Grade: C+
Behind an Elite Group of RBs, Easy Breezy Have the Studs to Reach Playoffs

* Easy Breezy parlayed the top pick into a decent performance. With Todd Gurley II and Christian McCaffrey expected to combine for the highest point total of all starting RB groups in the league, Easy Breezy are projected to finish 7-6 (1,621 points), which would place them 5th in The Elite.
* Of all the offensive selections by Easy Breezy, Pierre Garcon is prepared to take the biggest jump from last year.
* You must have had an inside man when deciding to draft Michael Crabtree with the 10th pick of the 6th round, about three rounds earlier than his ADP of 88.
* The early bird gets the worm. You got the jump on your opponents at tight end, drafting Rob Gronkowski (No. 20 overall) as the first TE off the board. You demonstrated more patience at quarterback, becoming the last owner in the league to draft a QB with the selection of Alex Smith (No. 120 overall).
* Even with an opening at QB in the 7th round, Easy Breezy drafted RB Dion Lewis at No. 61, filling the WR/RB/TE flex position at the expense of a more important position.

Behind an Elite Backfield, Hej are a Force to be Reckoned With

* Starting with a juicy draft position (No. 2 overall), Hej had an excellent performance. The team is particularly strong at the running back position, as Le'Veon Bell and Jerick McKinnon are expected to combine for the 3rd-highest point total of all starting RB groups in the league. Hej are predicted to finish 2nd in The Elite with a record of 11-2 (1,698 points).
* Hej scored a outstanding late-round value when they selected Tyler Lockett at No. 159, about three rounds later than his ADP of 128.
* You might have been a little overeager when deciding to select Marquise Goodwin with the 2nd pick in the 7th round, about two rounds earlier than his ADP of 93.
* With only one quarterback off the board, Hej predicted a run on the horizon and got in early, taking Cam Newton with the 42nd overall pick. In the ensuing round, three more quarterbacks were snatched up.
* Hej will be all in on the 49ers this season, as the selections of Jerick McKinnon, Marquise Goodwin, and George Kittle give them three San Francisco players, more than any other team in The Elite. League-wide, the Falcons were the most popular team, as seven of them were selected in the draft.

Nasty Nate's Crew

Despite an Impressive Backfield, Nasty Nate's Crew Should Have Consulted an Expert

* Nasty Nate's Crew received a solid draft position, and they fumbled it away. Even though they had the No. 3 overall pick, they're projected to finish 10th in The Elite. Some good news: the team is especially talented at running back, as Ezekiel Elliott and Dalvin Cook are expected to combine for the 2nd-highest point total of all starting RB groups in the league. Nasty Nate's Crew are looking at a final record of 2-11 (1,646 points).
* Nasty Nate's Crew notched a outstanding late-round value when they picked up Jared Goff at No. 118, about 13 picks later than his ADP of 105.
* Everyone, it seems, fancies themselves the next Scott Pianowski nowadays, so there's no telling where you got the idea to select Kenny Stills in the 10th round, about three rounds earlier than his ADP of 130.
* Fashionably late? You became the last owner in the league to draft a wide receiver with your selection of Chris Hogan (No. 43 overall).
* With the 2nd-youngest group in the league at an average of 4.6 years of NFL experience, Nasty Nate's Crew are leading the youth movement. Even so, they didn't pick any of the nine rookies drafted.
* In spite of openings at QB, WR, and TE in the 3rd round, Nasty Nate's Crew drafted RB Jordan Howard at No. 23, filling the WR/RB/TE flex position at the expense of a more important position. They were the earliest squad to make their first flex pick.

Predicted to Finish Fourth, 2 Gurleys 1 Kupp Will Battle Every Week

* 2 Gurleys 1 Kupp turned a solid draft slot (No. 4 overall) into a decent performance. 2 Gurleys 1 Kupp are predicted to finish 7-6 (1,660 points), which would place them 4th in The Elite.
* What a great late-round bargain for 2 Gurleys 1 Kupp, who picked up Mohamed Sanu in the 16th round, about four rounds later than his ADP of 125.
* Are you willing to reveal your source? We'd love to know what prompted the selection of Marshawn Lynch with the 4th pick in the 7th round, about 15 picks earlier than his ADP of 79. Granted, you may be onto something.
* With only two defenses off the board, 2 Gurleys 1 Kupp predicted a run looming and got in early, taking Los Angeles in the 9th round. Three more defensive units came off the board in the round that followed.
* Fashionably late? You became the last owner in the league to draft a tight end with your selection of Jordan Reed (No. 97 overall).

Yunghoe Koo - Qwec

2.   (16)   Keenan Allen (LAC - WR)

15.   (145)   Keelan Cole (Jax - WR)
16.   (156)   Carolina (Car - DEF)

Grade: C
Predicted to Finish Eighth, Yunghoe Koo Aren't Exactly What You'd Call Strong

* Despite selecting with the No. 5 overall pick, Yunghoe Koo drafted a roster that will have trouble earning wins. Opponents could enjoy defeating them regularly, as this team is projected to finish 8th in The Elite. Yunghoe Koo are looking at a record of 4-9 (1,646 points).
* What a great late-round bargain for Yunghoe Koo, who picked up Aaron Jones at No. 136, about three rounds later than his ADP of 113.
* Everyone fancies themselves the next Scott Pianowski these days, so there's no telling where you got the idea to choose Jamison Crowder at No. 65, about three rounds earlier than his ADP of 97. Granted, maybe you're onto something?
* We've heard of Stars-and-Scrubs, but is there such a thing as Scrubs-and-Scrubs? Combined, the top players from each position on Yunghoe Koo are slated to score the 2nd-lowest point total in the league. And the rest of the roster is equally hopeless, as those players are expected to combine for a point total that would rank as the 3rd lowest.
* Even with an unfilled slot at TE in the 7th round, Yunghoe Koo chose WR Jamison Crowder at No. 65, filling the WR/RB/TE flex position instead of a position of greater importance.

Killer Kangaroos - Neo

15.   (146)   C.J. Anderson (Car - RB)
16.   (155)   Benjamin Watson (NO - TE)

Grade: C+
Despite a Formidable Group of Receivers, Killer Kangaroos Aren't Scaring Anyone

* Killer Kangaroos are no team for the ages, but they could potentially be playoffs-bound assuming they get a few breaks. After picking No. 6 overall, the team is predicted to land in 6th place in The Elite. While Antonio Brown, Demaryius Thomas, and Brandin Cooks are slated to combine for the 3rd-highest point total of all starting WR groups in the league, Killer Kangaroos are in store for a mark of 5-8 (1,636 points) with the current roster.
* Killer Kangaroos netted a great late-round bargain when they selected CJ Anderson in the 15th round, about three rounds later than his ADP of 116.
* Are you in a sharing mood? We'd love to know what prompted the selection of Carlos Hyde at No. 86, about 14 slots earlier than his ADP of 101.
* Killer Kangaroos appear to have prioritized experience over youth, putting together a lineup with an average of 6.9 years of NFL experience, ranking as the 3rd-oldest group in the league. Driving that point home, they didn't pick any of the nine rookies drafted.
* Despite openings on offense at QB, WR, and TE in the 5th round, Killer Kangaroos selected RB Derrick Henry with the 46th pick, filling the WR/RB/TE flex position rather than a higher leverage position. They were the third squad to make their first flex pick.

Shiny and Chrome - Spike

15.   (147)   Rishard Matthews (Ten - WR)
16.   (154)   Atlanta (Atl - DEF)

Grade: C+
Led by a Pair of Saints, Shiny and Chrome Probably Shouldn't Gloat About This Roster

* If you can't handle the heat, get out of the draft room. Shiny and Chrome collapsed under the pressure of this draft. Picking No. 7 overall, they were clearly not ready. Behind multiple Saints in the early rounds (Alvin Kamara and Michael Thomas), Shiny and Chrome are predicted to finish 7th in The Elite with a record of 4-9 (1,665 points).
* Shiny and Chrome netted a tremendous late-round bargain with the selection of Tarik Cohen with the 7th pick in the 13th round, about 15 spots later than his ADP of 112.
* We'll give you some credit and assume you took the dog out right before the selection of Emmanuel Sanders with the 4th pick of the 8th round, about 22 spots earlier than his ADP of 96.
* With the youngest group in the league at an average of 4.5 years of NFL experience, Shiny and Chrome are counting on youthful exuberance. Demonstrating their commitment to youth, they selected two rookies (Royce Freeman and Kerryon Johnson), the 2nd-highest total in the league.
* Shiny and Chrome completed all of their individual offensive positions before utilizing the WR/RB/TE flex position, choosing WR Emmanuel Sanders in the 8th round as the first flex player on the team.

Nifty Ninths - wiff
1.   (8)   DeAndre Hopkins (Hou - WR)

15.   (148)   Charles Clay (Buf - TE)
16.   (153)   D.J. Moore (Car - WR)

Grade: A
With a Loaded WR Unit, Nifty Ninths are the Obvious Front-Runners

* Although they ended up with the No. 8 overall selection, Nifty Ninths held their ground, building a roster capable of dominating any team in The Elite. The team is particularly deep at receiver, as DeAndre Hopkins, Adam Thielen, and Allen Robinson II are expected to combine for the 2nd-highest point total of all starting WR groups in the league. Nifty Ninths are predicted to finish with a record of 12-1 (1,787 points), earning them 1st place.
* Nifty Ninths notched a tremendous late-round value when they picked up Ronald Jones II in the 12th round, about three rounds later than his ADP of 86.
* Are you willing to share your secrets? We'd love to know what prompted you to select Adrian Peterson at No. 88, about 22 picks earlier than his ADP of 110.
* With only one kicker off the board, Nifty Ninths saw a run coming and got in early, taking Greg Zuerlein in the 10th round. In the round that followed, three more kickers went off the board.
* If you're not first, you're last, so good thing you were first. You got the jump on your opponents at quarterback, drafting Aaron Rodgers (No. 13 overall) as the first QB off the board.

Ng's Score Squad
1.   (9)   Melvin Gordon (LAC - RB)
2.   (12)   Leonard Fournette (Jax - RB)
3.   (29)   Tyreek Hill (KC - WR)
4.   (32)   T.Y. Hilton (Ind - WR)
5.   (49)   Deshaun Watson (Hou - QB)
6.   (52)   Jimmy Graham (GB - TE)
7.   (69)   Mark Ingram (NO - RB)

14.   (132)   Calvin Ridley (Atl - WR)
15.   (149)   Pittsburgh (Pit - DEF)
16.   (152)   Daniel Carlson (Min - K)

Grade: B+
With a Projected Finish of Third, Ng's Score Squad are Loaded with Talent

* Although they drew the No. 9 overall selection, Ng's Score Squad didn't let it faze them, building a roster capable of beating any team in The Elite. Ng's Score Squad are projected to finish with a record of 10-3 (1,752 points), placing them 3rd.
* This QB (Deshaun Watson) ought to take the biggest leap over last year of all the offensive players selected by Ng's Score Squad. After a rookie season in which he threw for 1,699 yards and 19 TDs with 8 INTs in 7 games, totaling 177 fantasy points, Watson is projected to score 319 fantasy points with the Texans, a 89% jump. That makes him a valuable No. 1 QB for this squad.
* Are you willing to reveal your source? We'd love to know what prompted you to choose Julian Edelman at No. 92, about 17 spots earlier than his ADP of 109.
* Ng's Score Squad will live and die with the Packers this season, as the selections of Jimmy Graham, Jamaal Williams, and Randall Cobb give them three Green Bay players, more than any other team in The Elite.
* In spite of an opening at WR in the 7th round, Ng's Score Squad selected RB Mark Ingram with the 69th pick, filling the WR/RB/TE flex position rather than a position of higher importance.

15.   (150)   Josh Doctson (Was - WR)
16.   (151)   New England (NE - DEF)

Grade: C+
Led by a Pair of Seahawks, Clark's Rebuild Year Need to get to Work

* If you can't handle the heat, get out of the draft room. Clark's Rebuild Year wilted under the pressure of this draft. Picking No. 10 overall, they were clearly ill-equipped. Behind multiple Seahawks in the early rounds (Doug Baldwin and Russell Wilson), Clark's Rebuild Year are predicted to finish 9th in The Elite with a record of 3-10 (1,639 points).
* Clark's Rebuild Year netted a outstanding late-round bargain when they picked up Josh Doctson with the 10th pick in the 15th round, about 19 spots later than his ADP of 131.
* Are you in a sharing mood? We'd love to learn what prompted you to draft Rex Burkhead with the 10th pick in the 7th round, about 17 spots earlier than his ADP of 87.
* Clark's Rebuild Year blazed the trail for a run on the kicker position, taking Stephen Gostkowski with the 1st pick of the 10th round as the first K off the draft board. In the ensuing round, four more kickers went off the board.
* Fashionably late? You became the last owner in the league to draft a running back with your selection of Jay Ajayi (No. 50 overall).
* Even with openings at QB, RB, and TE in the 4th round, Clark's Rebuild Year selected WR Doug Baldwin at No. 31, filling the WR/RB/TE flex position at the expense of a position of greater importance. They were the second squad to fill a flex position.

Jerick Mckinnon tore his ACL on saturday.   Autopickers this weekend got boned all over the place.

Yes, he tore it in a basic walkthrough on literally cut day for 30 players--even remote whatever practices are dangerous in the NFL.

A fantastic comeback victory, to be sure.  And only one kicker swap away from knocking out 9-2 QB to make it two in a row!
