Not a WR, but a pretty good time.  I got 2:10 on skedar SA...I don't know how the heck 1:45 is possible!  I'd like to see some SA videos put up.  After marshs 2nd round, all agent and all perfect agent videos will be available, but no SA vids are up I don't think.

BTW, this is reply 150 for this topic, making it the first 150 post topic of the elite!  Keep getting new WRs, as this topic is larger than the 1.5 month old newbie topic!  I knew this would be a great idea, I made it ;)

Oh thank the PD gods I finally got that %@!&ing :06 on Duel SA...And for another SA record, how about 2:13 Maian SOS SA, and it took me like 3 tries ;)

I just waited through the whole cutscene, and then ran like mad and got into the huge lift before it closed.  Then I still had to wait like 4 or 5 full seconds for the last elevator to come.  But I can remember trying this level a lot in the past and it was a bastard, so it did seem eerily easy this time around.  I'm going to go try for the other Maian SOS records now... :)

1:43 Extraction SA! I knew I had the time on that one. I was at the door to the body guards at 1:19:33, very nice run.

I think probably about that, or maybe somewhere around 1:41-1:42 is possible.

I have a picture of the time if anyone has problems.

I suppose neither of these two are "new", but I tied both the Skedar Ruins Agent time of 1:28 and the Perfect Agent time of 1:59.  For 1:28 I got 1:28.00 (dammit), and for the 1:59 I received 1:59.01 (no joke).  But the SA record for that level is insane ;)

Got Deep Sea SA in 4:49. :)

With a 4:12 on PA, that now makes me King of 7 levels: G5, Infiltration (tied with DL), Escape, Air Base, Crash Site, Deep Sea, and MBR.  Kewl.

11 more seconds to go until I break 2 hours :)

Oh yeah, records and stuff, I just got a 2:12 on PII SA!  Do you skip the shield SnapDragon?  I was getting desperate for seconds and though that getting the shield actually wasted 2 or 3 in the end.  Of course, this made me beat the level in about full red, but who cares now, right?

That Deep Sea SA level can be reduced to like 4:30 if I could get the FarSight trick to work...Man, one time there was only like 10 more seconds to protect Elvis, but then two Skedar at once appear, and it was all over :(

DAMN it.  Now I have to go back and play PII SA... <sigh>

Of course I skipped the shield.  Why would you ever pick it up?  It's SA and dying is uncommon.

No, now someone else beat me there on SA!  If this keeps up, I'll have to play P2 a bit more to stay in the Top 5.

Hmm, that was also probably the only level I had been ahead of Paragon on...

Mwahahaha, I have broke 2 hours with a 3:59 on Deep Sea PA :) !  I just barely beat marshmallow's old record of a flat 4:00.  Now I have 1:59:47 for overall time, only 43? seconds from marshmallow, hehe.

Amazing... simply amazing.  I never thought anyone could possibly rival marshmallow for time.  You're awesome at both Agent AND PA... pity you have to divide your attention between them. :p

Anyway, I've taken my sweet, sweeeet revenge for your arrogance in beating 2:13.  We'll start out with:
Pelagic II SA - 2:11

But that's not the best part...
Pelagic II A - 0:59!!!

Yep, 1 minute has been broken on PII!!  It was bloody HARD... theoretically, I know my time can be improved by a second or possibly even two... but, uh, good luck trying. :)

That is, unless you're SquareGuru, in which case there are 12 seconds which are obviously unnecessary.  They're, uh, somewhere in the middle...

I just discovered something that makes my 0:59 not quite so impressive.  (Still difficult, though)  Skip the two lines that are said when Jo points at one of the guards.  At the very least, skip the first one.  Then you won't have to wait at all to point at the third guard after punching out the second.

I guess this saves 2 seconds.  D'oh!  And it's not as hard to skip Jo's first line to the pilot as it is to skip her statement upon entering the pilot room.  It's about equivalent to skipping the AF1 line.

Of course, this must work on SA and PA too... <sigh>

um did that Elvis thing work? prob not? and what happened to me once with the 2 guys in pelagic was I said shut this thing off and immediately pointed at the other guard, and said shut this thing off. I don't remember what happened, but if that works, it would be easier then skipping speeches if u suck at it (like me )

Oh.  My.  God.

Well, the new trick works well.  I got 0:59 again after playing for only a half hour or so.  But I kept playing, and now... well, when I saw this time I just about fainted.

Pelagic II, Agent - 0:56
No joke.

Now the combined Agent time is 28 minutes flat!  I'm at 28:05, and my goal is inching ever closer...  Now I'm going back to Deep Sea to try to knock off a few more seconds.  I mean, the theoretical minimum for the level is like 3:05, so surely I can lose a FEW seconds.

BTW, MLM, skipping speech when you're at Elvis doesn't help.  You're not waiting for his speech... you're waiting through a short pause while the Objective Complete message comes up.  Sorry...

Hehe, I like being able to challenge everyone on all of the difficulties :)

BTW, for PII, the thing that always pissed me off like hell was that I never used to wait for the pilot to say "Please, don't hurt me!"  I would just point at one guard, knock out the next, and Joanna would interrupt herself to order the third guard as well.  However, this only works like 1% of the time, which drove me completely insane until I saw marshmallow's PA video awhile back where he waited for two of them to speak (I normally just wait for one)...The point is I think skipping the first speech makes that particular pilot leave for the computer more quickly, which for some reason makes it easier for the next pilot to reach it as well (the thing which prevents this entire trick from working is when they block each other).  But, dammit, I was so pleased with my 1:01, because it had been a long time coming, even if I knew it was definitely beatable (I had trouble with the X-Ray thing like the idiot I was).

Anyway, I think Skedar Ruins Agent would be easier to cut off one second...But Snap, I think before the end of the week you will probably have some more posts in this same topic ;)   I'll be taking a break probably this week since school is ridiculous for me, but next weekend I will once again return for my revenge, mwahahaha!

That's it, I'm checking EVERY SINGLE LEVEL to make absolutely sure I'm behind Paragon on everything.  Then, I'll find a level where his time isn't that great, and then maybe beat it!!  HAHAHAHA!!

Edit:  NO, I do not have mental problems, so don't ask.

ah-HA!  I am two seconds faster on AF1 on SA, one of my good levels!!  Also, if I improve 2 seconds on Extraction SA, I'll be ahead of Paragon...strange how all the times of mine that are better than or close to better than Paragon's are on SA.

You wont have to worry about me getting :33, or even 5 seconds close to that!  I only have :39, and for some reason can't get better.  If you look at individual levels, I am way down there on the lists for the first few, but in the top 10 for the later few.  I guess I just don't shine at pure sprinting...  Can't wait till snap gets us (or anybody else gets us) below 28:00.  My guess is he will come up with a :56 on CI, 1:19 on deap sea (he said he'd work on that one) or infiltrator/NGamer will get :57 on AF1.

Just wanted to slip this in here, marsh has dropped to 4th...

I WILL be the first one to get :33 on Defection! I have come so close to getting it on so many runs I am going insane. Believe me when I say this, whoever gets :33 first, I will tip my hat to them personally, for that time is the hardest of all to get. BTW, it IS possible to get.

I know a 33 is possible too!  I have a few teeny little tricks up my sleeve for that level as well...But I'll save these micro second saving Dark Theory until I try them out ;)   But I have been the first one to lower the Defection record each time, so nyah, nyah.  I got the first 35, and then the first 34 :)

I think I was around 5th to get :34 on that. When I did get :34, it was :34.39 (I think). I know it was :34.3?, but when I did it with slo-mo (yes, I know, people say that slo-mo is incorrect in telling the possible time, but) I got :33.13 but the door at the bottom of the stairs was closed and had to open it myself. Thats means that if I can get in the high :32's in slo-mo, that means I can get :33 in regular. Since its such a small level, there is not much room for mistakes, especially the fact the you spend like :15 in the elevator alone.

But why would you want to spend so much time trying to get an almost imposible time of 33 when all it will do is lower your time by 1 second?

P.S.  Don't make me hurt you!:)

Getting some awesome times, even if it is on short levels, is more of a thrill than to see my points go up or my overall time go down...Go for it ExpertGamer!  Get a :33, I need some reassurance before I try that it is possible ;)   And besides, I think my :34 was probably like :34.99 or something...

Wow, that came out of left field!  WTG, Golan!

I tried for a while on Deep Sea and failed to improve.  Then I tied the Extraction record.  Rescue was next on my list... nice going!

Ok... so the ELITE are below 28 minutes.  Now _I_ need to get below 28 minutes. :)   5 seconds to go...

As for Defection.  It simply boggles my mind how ExpertGamer can do so well on the level.  I played for 5 hours to get a 34.86 or something similar, and as far as I was concerned that was a PERFECT run.  For a long time I thought it was THE hardest WR on the page to get.  But now 10 people have it?  WTF??

snap--I know what you mean, there are more and more people getting that record everyday, along with chicago 17 and CI 57.  Some people in 60th place have the chicago record, and expertgamer used to say it was the record he was most proud of "because not many people have it."  I don't know if you remember when he said that, but all these people with records is insane.  Maybe I should try for one of them, if everybody else can, I can :)

I remember that octoinky when it was just like him, snap and paragon, I kinda get the idea that people are lying just because so many people have it. I'm willing to bet that like a quarter of the people don't really have 3 seconds on duel.

Yeah, duel :03 is harder than you would think.  I think it's impossible without using the trick, and newbies come in without ever posting on the board and somehow know the trick...  I'm known to doubt people quickly though, but I think just a tad too many people have :17 on chicago for it's difficulty

Well, my Crash Site PA Dark Theory strategy never really turned out too well, but I combined some of the ideas there with the ones I used to have...and got a 2:46 after like 5 tries!  This can definitely be lowered to 2:35, and that I will try to do over the weekend, along with taping a good run. :)   BTW, read the Crash Site "Dark Theory" post for the changes I've made...

Don't worry Gohan, I know what it's like to not own a record for yourself. I've owned at least 4 records to myself at one point in time (G5 SA, Air Base A, Air Base SA, and Investigation SA), but they've all since been tied or beaten *cough*Snap*cough*. But hey, such is the Elite I guess...

<gasp wheeeeze> Ok, I did it.  It's done.  Now I can finally rest.

Deep Sea A - 3:17
Skedar Ruins A - 1:26 (this was HARD)

Plus I got a 1:39 on Rescue.  (I've always said 1:36 was possible, Gohan!  On this run the technician took a few seconds to get to the explosion, but the rest of the level went smoothly)  So I've broken 28 minutes.  I can barely believe it.  The sad part is, many of the optimizations I did were so evil they weren't even worth any points.  (Lowering an untied WR is pointless ... literally! :) )

Now it's time for a LONG break from Perfect Dark... my thumb is so blistered it's not even funny.  I think I'll go win Chrono Cross... I haven't even played it recently! :(

Well, I've tied all the Agent WRs that I can.  I don't have any real hope of getting 1:32 on Investigation or 0:27 on WAR!, but everything else is mine!

0:58 on AF1 was thanks to Ngamer and Infiltrater.  And as for 1:36 on Rescue... well, I've worked out a new strategy!  It's much more consistent than the old one.  I got 1:39 twice, 1:38 twice, and 1:36, all in the space of an hour.  And I'm sure 1:36 can be beaten, too (sorry Gohan!).

I'll give my great new strategy right at the end of this post.  That is, unless I forget.  You see, I have a habit of sometimes starting to ramble and blather on about inconsequential things.  It's a failing of mine.  Then before you know it, I've lost track of my point completely.

Add Air Force One SA 1:28 to that list as well. :)

The cinema started for me (the one after the pres) at 55 seconds or so. The run before it, something fluky happened and it started at 49. Don't even ask me how... as soon as I unpaused from Joanna's "recording" speech, the pres just said "we do now?" as in he was finishing his line after that... but hey, I'll be happy with this new WR for a few minutes (likely someone'll tie it or beat it now).

Also, lets hear the Rescue strat, Snap!

Yes, rescue strat!  I'd dearly love to see where 15 seconds are going...  And infiltrater--what happened on the rest of that odd run?  I'd assume you'd end with atleast a 1:25, or did you just abort because you knew it wouldn't be fair?
