Back to ramp:29-30
get in lift:1:14

Here are some new Pointer times

Get bug on antenna:  26-27
Get through cubby hole: 33-34

Here is exactly when I started for my WR time:

"Okay Joanna, take a look at this."

That's near right away.

I just got a 2:59, not great but pretty good for me, that knocks 31 seconds off my old time of 3:30, I got down the ramp at like :19, got back up at like :40, and then got into the first lift at like 2:10 or so(I took a lot of extra time here)

I know this isn't a WR, but I've been working on Infiltration PA and I finally beat it with a time of 7:33, just under 4 minutes better than my old time of 11:19 :)  That also knocks my total PA time below 2 hours, so I can't say that marshmallow has a lower total time than my PA time anymore :)

It's not too hard really.  OK, to get in the correct position, look straight at the computer, how you do when you set the explosives.  Now go to the left, around the wall that divides the room.  If you turn to the right, you should see the top of the computer over the wall.  If you prime a grenade and throw it here, then quickly get out of the way (and set the explosives)...All of the laser tripwires should hopefully be destroyed.

BTW, good job GohanDZ in your recent new times!  I think I've seen your times in a few places on the records table :)

Oh yeah!  I got a 1:56 on Skedar Ruins SA now too ;)

Marshmallow, since you haven't mentioned your 2:14 on Maian SOS I'm assuming it's a typo.  Please fix it, or justify it (and it needs some HEFTY justification).

While we're at it, 0:57 on G5 SA and 1:12 on G5 PA.  Even if I suck ass at shooting, at least I can strafe well.

I did mention the 2:14 for Maian SOS, and the only thing that changed from the 2:18 model is that the random elevator came down way sooner than I expected to (1:52 or 54, I believe). Is a movie of it justifiable? ;)

While we're speaking of movies, I got a 2:19 of PII SA on tape. 2:15 should be attainable, problem is you get stuck on so many guards it's ridiculous.

I was the one who got 2:18 on SOS first! I made a seperate topic for that one since it was my first WR not tied already. Too bad Marsh had that random elevator come :04 earlier and beat my time.

Whatever.  You'll probably have it beaten by tomorrow (you have a habit of saying how difficult a time is to get, and then beating it by 15 seconds).  Or if not you, then Paragon, since I'm forcing him to return to the level once again...

Who said I changed any strategy?  Just do it the same as in SA, except for running down to turn off the jamming (which you should do fast enough to get back through the door before it closes).  Kill the 3 alarm guys and activate the rightmost two consoles first.  The rest is just like in the video.  The 8 seconds difference is pretty much just from the first 2 rooms (I now do them almost as fast as in Agent).

You have a hell of a lot more info on getting this than I have on any of your bloody PA records...

Hi everybody! :)   Wait, that was a poor icebreaker.

OK, G5 Building has just jumped up to the 3rd "most hated" list of timed levels.  (Right behind Deep Sea and MBR for those interested.)  Anyway, I totally can understand the G5 times.  Just look at the 47 seconds one on Agent.  Now just add like 5 or 6 seconds for hitting buttons, 1 or 2 for shooting guards maybe, and then maybe 2 more just because it was not as incredible as the Agent one was.  For Perfect Agent just add like 15 seconds more for shutting off the damping field generator, where it is not too hard to get back through the door as long as the guard on the narrow stairwell does not cause too much trouble...

Anyway, what is even more fun now is the MBR SA/PA records!  They are both the same now ;)   I got a 1:41 on SA with a great run, then a 1:41 on PA again with an incredible run.  So yay! for me! :b

I can't imagine 1:34 on agent.  It should not differ from SA, should it?  You have to plant the bomb, but when you get back the elevator still isn't there, is it?  Then PA add 2 seconds to deploy the bombspy and move it a few inches out of the elevator.  Then another 2 for the elevator to start moving again after the captain is killed.  I think (if 1:34 is the truth, which I think it is) that 1:35 SA and 1:39 PA are possible, but incredibly hard

In Agent you wait through the entire cinema and can get into the elevator at just under 12 seconds.  For Special Agent you still wait through the entire cinema, but when you arrive at the elevator it is open, and usuallyyou can shut the door there in just under 15 seconds.  So only a three second difference should be added on, but the 1:34 is so amazing to begin with it would be insane to repeat it with a 1:37.  As for Pefect Agent it only takes one second to deploy the BombSpy, and then about two more to kill the dD captain, so theoretically a 1:40 is possible on Perfect Agent I would think.

This is of course implying that the Agent record is maxed out.  Personally, I think MBR could be finished ridiculously fast if Cass never talked, [/i]never[/i] turned around on the 5 ramps/stairs, never hesitated at the doors, and the speech mysteriously was skipped over in her office.

I thought all of that had to be done just for the 1:34...it's an amazing time.  I have 1:54, 1:50 and 1:59.  I still can't beat my 1:54 A although I got a 1:50 on a great SA run, I hate it when that happens

As usual, Paragon knows exactly what he's talking about.  1:34 on MBR is definitely beatable (I think 1:31 is possible by a human, and possibly less just due to sheer randomness).  If the 1:36 MBR video ever gets put up, you'll see that I actually sucked quite a bit on it; Cass just went very quickly, that's all.  It's just not a very fun level to play.  Maybe I'll try matching Paragon's PA time... <sigh>

And as he said regarding G5, yeah, you can see from the Agent video exactly how I do everything.  Just add a little bit of activity in the middle for the SA and PA objectives, and in PA a little bit of fishing for ammo in the first two rooms.  All I really did was go back and apply all that practice I had on Agent to SA and PA.

Now if only I could do well on a REAL PA level...

You should put a movie up on one of your suckiest runs on PA so we can critique it (make fun of it) for you ;) .

If I ever get a capture card (I will someday I hope), I'm going to put up a 10 minute movie of me playing Combat Simulator.  One day, dammit, I wiil beat the "ultimate" challenge I made for myself:

Complex, Fast Movement, One-hit Kills, No Radar
8 DarkSims, All Falcon 2 pistols

(The No Radar is so that camping is not overly effective)

Whee!  I've never actually won it, but if/when I do, I want to get it on tape! :)

Give me a break.  Like it doesn't hurt enough.

Anyway, I finally tied your 1:41 on MBR PA... I'm really hoping you'll leave it at that, since that level sucks.  And I got 1:40 on SA, so at least the WRs aren't exactly the same.

Wow...this has been a busy weekend for WR's.  This topic has 74 posts since the weekend started and so many WR's have been broken.

Anyway, I stole back my SA Skedar Ruins WR from Paragon with 1:55 even though i screwed up on the boss.  I think 1:49-1:50 is possible, but im not going to try to lower any of my Skedar times unless someone breaks my records.

Man, don't even mention that a better time can be done...I got 2:29 and I was proud of it!  All this improving makes me think I can improve my times too, and so far it hasn't worked...

cut that, I just got 1:44 agent!  Yay, it was 1:57 this morning...

One little question, what is your target time for entering the boss room on agent (for the 1:32 run)?  I got in at 1:11 on my previous run and the boss took :33.

I think 1:08 to the king room and then 24 seconds to kill the king.

You can watch my video, but the time is too small to look for pointer times :(

SWEET!  All I'm lacking is killing the king.  I was stuck on a skedar for 1 second so I guess I just need to optimize the boss sequence.  It takes me 33 agent, 41 SA and 43 PA.  I use traditional reload though (pressing B) because I can't get the A then A+Z to work, it always just stays at reaper.  I'll keep trying SA.  Do you remember a pointer for that?  I'd assume around 1:25, my best is around 1:30 but then the boss screwed me by cloaking

I don't doubt Snap for a second, because those G5 times are entirely possible, but I hate you for beating my 1:01. It seems all my world records are either being tied (Darklich with Investigation SA) or beaten (case in point with Sucram on Air Base or you here with G5 SA). The only one I hold solely to myself now is Air Base agent... *sniff* don't take my baby away!

Tied 1:40 Rescue Agent, and I honestly think 1:39 or maybe 1:38 is possible.  Next, probably Carrington Institute and Defection.  I like going for the ones where a lot of other people have gotten it...;)

Oh yeah, that :36 Defection is without strafing the glass, so :34 should be no problem once I do strafe it...

Just tied Defection, won't be able to work on Carrington Institute until tomorrow though...I decided to play a bit of Pelagic II SA, and my best run was a mere 7 seconds off the world record...and I think I can take that off.  I got caught in a couple doors, and didn't have a very good placement for the X-Ray Scanner section.  I'll work on that one tomorrow...
