What's the earliest you guys have gotten the cinema to start on SA/PA? I beat 53 seconds the other day... I was pretty surprised.

The earliest I've gotten is 52.76.  Although I do average 53.00.  Oh by the way, I got several more 0:57 agents including a 57.2.  :)   It's amazing how good I am.

I figuered Perfect Die had something to do with it. He really seems to always have disliked me. Just out of curiosity though, what proof did he have? I have thought about that long and hard, but couldn't come up with anything.

I finally regained the af1 PA record solely.

1:32.01 Af1 PA

I'll get around 1:30 today if I really try.  Right now I'm still goin for 56 agent.  I played for an hour straight and got 17 57's.  I love this level :)

back again.  No luck on PA, so I decided to play some SA and got:

It was BOOYAH  delicious.  best cutscene I have ever seen.  It was 52.31!!!!!!!!!!!

Well... I suppose that's what 1.2 does for a person. I can't touch that, I don't think. And 1:30 on PA is easily possible... and I would have it too had it not been for a stupid thing the game did on my best run. Once again, 1.1 is defeated... oh well, I put up a valiant effort, and I'm sure the Elite agrees...

why do you 1.1 users whine when your WR is beaten by a 1.2 user? i mean, how hard is it to learn to use 1.2? if you really want the WR enough, you'll go and do it, so please, stop whining about how 1.1 is always defeated by 1.2.

it's not that easy. I've tried, goddamnit, I've tried. it's not that easy. I know it's fast as hell. I used it for 10 seconds on CI defense and lowered a time taht I couldn't beat for the life of me with only 1.1. It's ridculous, but all I can do is run down straight hallways.

It's not exactly easy to "reteach yourself to walk" after over a hundred hours of burning reflexes into your brain. It's an unfortunate reality that 1.2 is faster, but it's impossible not to bitch about it. It truly no longer lets the better 1.1 users compete with the better 1.2 users, and there's dickall we can do about it unless we want to spend another 3 game days trying to erase all we've ever been teaching ourselves about the game.

I had played 10 days solo plus 5 days multi with 1.1. All i did was beat the first 20 challenges with 1.2 and then play some solo. Its not a matter of days to get used to it, its a matter of hours.
Right away you won't be that great but it really isnt as hard as people who havent tried make it seem.

Infil,the controller style really isnt "burned into your mind", i used 1.1 for a while then i quickly switched to 1.2 in the levels where i needed to run,i screwed up some times, but just practice in CI and it shouldnt really be a problem, up until about 3 months ago, i used 1.1 and 1.2, i found out that 1.1 was better used for some levels and what not, but still, stop whining about how 1.1 is always losing, its not that FREAKIN hard, it doesnt take 3 game days to get a new controller style,it takes about 10 minutes of effort.

I played GoldenEye for two years and then Perfect Dark came out and I switched to 1.2.  Of course it's not the same since I wasn't playing for speed, but still, it is not that hard to "teach" yourself how to use it.  There was a time when I preferred 1.2 for Solo and 1.1 for CS and I could freely switch bewteen the two anytime I wanted.  I'm also beginning to think people who believe they are saving 10 seconds by switching are those with poor controllers.  There is not one single level where 1.2 gives even a 5 second advantage I bet.

Wow... it is starting to become truly unpleasant to read these boards.  Disco, you seem to consider yourself a tier above the rest of humanity.

Let's see, if you assume (I know it's crazy, but bear with me) that the 1.2 players on the level are, on average, just as good as the 1.1 players, then judging from the pointer times that have been posted ad nauseum, 1.2 makes just about a 1-second difference before the cinema scene.  Of course, based on what Disco, friends, and the mental giant Perfect Die have said (and they should know!), the assumption is totally invalid, so my actual guess is that 1.2 approximately doubles the time it takes.  Wow, if you just learned 1.1, you'd get about a 0:40!

I feel sorry for Infil, having to put up with you guys.  Look at this... even the WR topic is degenerating into a flame war.  Does anybody here actually have a healthy spirit of competition any more?  Thank god for retirement...

Well, I too have found the need to join the crowd, giving me once again a well-earned WR:

AF1: A 0m:57s

About this 1.1/1.2 thing, you must realize that it is not simply ten minutes, or a few hours. I have tried aquainting myself with 1.2 for several hours, yet is in NO way comparible to my reaction time, and skill using 1.1. The reality is, it is going to be another 3 days of playing to truly get aquainted with it and such, but you know what, why the hell should !? Why should I? I will do my best with 1.1, and I will whine my ass off if I can't do any better because of it. It is perhaps not as harsh, but it is still a problem as with the PAL thing. Sure they could go bye a converter or system and PD and such, but whats the point.

G5 PA 1:05.01..... all on tape too =).
I am seriously starting to think that under a minute for pa is possible. My :52 sa had about 1, or 2 seconds of error. After the 2nd cloaked guard room i got stuck on a guard, which costed me about a second. Plus i couldve done the 2nd cloaked guard room alittle faster. My guesses for the maxes would probably be :43, :50, 1:00. It take about 7 seconds to deactivate the lasers, and 10 seconds to disable the damping field generator. Time to play stupid old air base again... :(

THANK YOU DARKLIGHT!  Everybody think back, over 5 months ago, when we had the first maxed times thing.  I put it the PA at 59, nobody believed me...  "ARE YOU CRAZY?  I am the king at that level, and I can tell you 1:12 was frickin incredible.  Not much better is possible"  *sigh* looks like shock's not the only one with a touch of visions :)

Sweet! I finally got :16 chicago agent! Ive been trying to get this for a loooong time. Also, :57.91 af1 agent, all thanks to experts vid! Both of these times only took me an amazing 5, or 6 hours to get too :) . Thats a total of 19 points which finally takes me over 2000 points on all difficulties! yay! :)  Now my only big goal left, is to some how beat paragon in time.... ;/ *runs away in terror*

Well, I thought I'd kick Paragon while he's down, and got a
2:23 Defection PA.

Crappy run, but Paragon isn't playing, so hopefully it'll stand for a while :)  

EDIT: Wait a minute, that makes me king of Defection! Yay! I always knew I was of royal descent. I gotta capture this moment, can anyone tell me how to save a page? Then I'll save the Defection rankings next update :)
