G'day
I was wondering if anyone still play PD or GE regularly? like daily or weekly?

Also, what do people think of Nintendo's Revolution?

And what do people think about the possibilties of PD on Nintendo DS now that Rare have confirmed support for the system?

And does anyone know where i can find some PD speedrunning tips?

I play rather often when I'm home that is... Currently in army so there's not much time to play unfortunately $:\$

The Revo seems interesting and I'm sure getting it as soon as it gets out... and no I don't believe Rare will port PD to the DS but who knows!

On DD: Extraction, how do you get the door on your left after the elevator ride to open? Every time i try, it's locked and i have to use the second elevator

Is it just me or when you watch the speedruns of really good times, it seems like they've used turbo mode or something, i know i can't run that fast without cheats...... how do they do it? :hat

Again on DD: Extraction (A), after killing all the bodyguards, Cassandra is left walking out the two doors to the rooftop, and gets in your way, slowing you down heap, how can you stop or avoid this?

Any tips?

You have to do the bodyguards really fast so you get ahead of her.

Try control style 1.2 if you think people are moving faster than you are in the vids. I noticed that immediately when I was first playing for fast times.

Hey, thanks for your help.

On Chicago (A), i can never get the Remote Mine to create the Distraction, as soon as it blows and then objective 3 is imediately failed (Gain access to G5 building). Is there like a specific spot you have to place it or something?

Just throw it as far left as possible as you are climbing the walls and blow it up around where you'd finish the level for it to complete quickly.

Where can i find a list of NTSC / PAL differences in PD? I know of the Elevator speed difference, but of none others?

Farsight 2nd fonction is unlimited on PAL, changes the strat on Deep Sea.
Some other random factors are different like on Attack Ship, but I'm no expert on that level.

Never used any cheating methods (exploding sims, running in circles all night, etc) to get that far either, that's @#%$ cheating. Never once did create a new character just to know what it's like to have 1 rank either, I'd rather get there on my own battles.

My brother Jay is around the boards sometimes, he's rank 3.

No, i'm not 'some kid who's dicking around with you', i am an experienced PD gamer, as in, i've had it since it was released and play it often, i've only just started getting into speedrunning it since finding these boards though.www.geocities.com/nindifdark/nindifs_own/.html

I don't play Combat Simulator THAT much, and only recently created a character on it. I'm Expert 12. i know thats nothing special, but i was just curious what the best have gotten too, and i figured the best players would post here.

Also, whats the theory behind pausing and un-pausing during in-game dialogue? (EG: AFO: Anti-terrorism), in the vid i just watched, the player pauses and un-pauses numerous times while Joanna and the president converse...

Any help?

It skips the speach(speach will happen dureing the pause, which you may or may not here), and thus saves time.

I have completed all missions on all difficulties, i haven't put up my scores yet 'cos there not good enough yet. like i said, i've only just started speedrunning in the last 3 days.... fair go.

Also, is there any way to time A51: Infiltration (A) so that when you get back from placing the explosives, the lift is already open for you. Each time i do it, i have to wait around for like 40 second before it finally arrives.

Any tips?

You need to get the keycard and call the lift before placing explosives in order to catch it at the top.

Could somone explain to me how exactly to do the pause-remove weapon trick that is used to get 3s on Duel (A)? when i do it, the gun appears at exactly the same speed as without pressing start and selecting it.

Any help?

You need to pause the game as the timer hits around 0.1, then reselect the falcon, and unpause. The gun should be up by the time you have your crosshair on the opponent.

On AF1: Anti-terrorism, while conversing with the president, i try to do the 'pause-during-speach' trick, but it doesn't work, it just pauses the game, what am i doing wrong?

After the pres says you can't say things like that without evidence... like... 2ish secs after that. You got to skip Jo's speech. Watch a vid for reference.

Common but unnavoidable on the N64 controllers, is the Analogue stick goes 'loose', severly affecting gameplay of all games, let alone speedrunning PD and GE.
Is there any way to fix this problem yourself?
