Defection A
« on: October 11, 2006, 10:35:00 am »

Guys, some help please.

Is there a specific timing for which button to push, when you fall down the building? Because men, I am trying and trying but everytime I fall next to the elevator by the guards. It drives me crazy.

Does anyone has  a good discription how to fall down the building correctly?

Thanx

It's impossible for us to tell you exactly what buttons you press where. You have to try it out for yourself...

Have you read these?

You don't need to press anything, you just need to land on the right spot, you just need to take a turn fast when you can around the building. You should learn this soon probably, keep trying, you just need to take a bit sharper turn if you land outside the elevator.

Its all feel.  You gotta play about 2000 hours or so and eventually you'll flukishly land onto the elevator.  Then you gotta remember the path you took and do it again over and over.  Defection Agent is retarded.

Ok guys, thanx for the advice. I remember myself doing it 2 or 3 years ago, but when I got 14 sec. I stopped playing that level because I'm not an admirer of playing the game in these kind of ways. Since it is unrealistic to just keep the old route, I'd better get myself over it and try to get a better time as 14 sec.

Thanx for your advice you guys, lets see what happens next.

I can land in the elevator almost 100%, i suggest you glitch out, then land on the "whatever it is called" thing that you can walk on just outside. Then when you go through the greenish column press forward and count to like 4 or something(obviously depends on how fast you count), then like 3 to the right(release up). This is basicly what i do.

However, if you want 6-7 then you will fall at full speed, and if you go through the greenish column way when you pretty much need to hold up almost all the time and press a little to the right(I didn't use any counting tricks here cause it was pretty easy to do).

So basicly, just count to whatever you think fits best and remember that and it should work all the time.

heh, the Defection glitch reminds me of the Final Egg glitch, only much easier to accurately land compared to FE.

if I hit the lift every time, I'd have 5 by now easily, maybe even 4...:rolleyes

The "Final Egg" referred to by QoiZ is Sonic's 10th action stage in Sonic Adventure.  There are a lot of Final Egg glitches, so it helps to be specific, but I know which one is being referred to here.  Upon emerging from the start of area 3, turn around and jump into the void (after setting Free Camera, something you can only do on the GameCube version).  If you jump far enough, you don't die; instead you go freefalling through a void.  If you navigated the right way, after about 8 seconds of falling, you'll land in a hallway that drops you off near the end, skipping most of area 3.

I'm actually reminded of the Dreamcast-only ending to Eternal Engine on SA2 more so than Final Egg, but the tie to Defection is pretty much the same.
