Perhaps a new strat for Investigation?
« on: January 28, 2006, 07:14:00 am »
Yeah, who knows, sorry if you guys knew that...

It's almost the same strat for Aztec, but 10 x harder to complete, but can save 3 seconds or something I think :p

Just disarm those two guys with Dragon and go for the door, waiting there. With some luck, one guard will follow your steps and open the door. I tried this today and worked three times.

Need a lot of patience to get a good bot and luck with the door, so I don't know if someone will try it. Do that on SA and PA should be annoying, then I think that will be useful on Agent only.

Then, what do you think? ;)
Again, sorry if you knew that...

If you crouch on the other side of the uplink a guard will come over to try and punch you. That's all I can contribute to the discussion without actually playing it to see consistencies.

I see Ryan, this is new for me

And Rayan, that happen rarely, because several times the guard will walk in circle and doesn't follow you :(

Did the guard instantly open the door? Like... he ran to the door, you dodged him and he opened it first try?

Not new, but congrats for thinking of it anyway. The whole "guard opening a door" strat has been around since darklight suggested that a guard could open the door to the "blow up the computer" objective on rescue PA.

I've tried on inves but just gave up. It'd be great to see someone pull it off.

It would be good if there were a way to warp past the 3rd set of lasers, because you can also start the level right away (no cinema watching) and do everything as normal, then run to the lasers and do the camspy trick in the first set. Wait until the bot deactivates the 2nd set and place the camspy where the lasers were, then wait until the 1st set is deactivated and run. You'll get past through the first 2 sets, but you can't pass through the 3rd. :(    Would save a lot of time if you could warp the 3rd set.

edit: typo.

re-edit: and I've tried everything, even exploding Proximity Mines and hoping they would help with the boost. :b

I got the guards to open the door, but it took ages or something.

I wonder if you kill every guard early on if that would make it more likely for the guards to open the door.  If they want to alert guards after that locked door they'd be more inclined to open it fast maybe.

It seems weird that a guard would do that...but i guees it could happen....The guard would have to open the door instantly for it to save time though.

Edit: Im going to try it.

It won't work. I've already tried that a long time ago, but failed.

Ok IF it ever worked it would have to work fast, and I doubt that if people are having a good run that the're going to try this.  The guards take out there second wepond (falcon 2). So yea.
