Hey guys, been awhile. I heard about Perfect Dark Zero coming out, so in recent days I had a rush of nostalgia and had a lot of fun downloading the latest vids and reading some threads here. Anyway, I am really impressed how you all keep improving your times and setting new records. All the new strats are awesome: Extraction SA, Infiltration SA, and the Crash Site mine throw were all news to me. Thinking about all the new discoveries since I first stopped playing is incredible (and embarrassing). For awhile now, it seems that has been Matt's area of expertise, so I will give him due credit, as I am still a real brat when it comes to that type of thing.
The videos have really become a collective work of art too. I only have to see a few of them before the craving returns to try and play again. That pursuit of perfection, albeit in an imperfect game, is still a fascinating challenge to me. Amazing to see accomplishments from long time players like Karl and Wouter... Even you "new" guys have loads more experience with the game (and talent!) than I did. Congrats to Bosshardt for really crushing both games. I also like YE's attitude that he seemed to take in one post. It's all about striving for those truly great untied records - putting in a lot of effort for just one sweet run. Two of Wouter's GE Agent runs are great examples I think. It helps prove that for better or for worse, the longer, more complicated levels in PD will always have room for improvement. As difficult as it is to keep pushing the limits, everyone knows there are still some relatively weak records out there. Keep at it and good luck.
Anyway, didn't mean to get all poetic there. Thought I'd try to post for once without stirring up unnecessary drama with a typical self-absorbed ego-maniacal rant! Also, I think it's really cool that Perfect Ace is doing really well despite being so young. He was nice enough to message me a few times too, so congrats to him.
P.S. In CI PA, why doesn't Bryan free the last two hostages with a Devastator grenade over the wall? That was my original plan when I realized you could fire over those walls...
