Perfect Dark Japanese Version -- Buying, testing, competing
« on: September 26, 2005, 11:35:00 pm »
I remember there was a link on these boards to a guy playing the Japanese games and exploiting some differences.  Use this topic to discuss differences (presumably found through emulator or those videos) as well as buying options.

I'll start things off, since I'm lazy I'll just paste in a conversation I had with Bryan on the subject.... I'm explaining how to buy the game on amazon.co.jp :

ngdru (11:14:20 PM): found it
ngdru (11:14:22 PM): www.amazon.co.jp/exec/obi...92-9049954
ngdru (11:14:29 PM): g'luck ordering though
ngdru (11:14:30 PM):
TheBigBossman007 (11:15:01 PM): I assume it's exactly like NTSC as far as how the play goes
ngdru (11:15:10 PM): not sure
TheBigBossman007 (11:15:12 PM): or America versiomn
ngdru (11:15:16 PM): you should play a bit on emulator
ngdru (11:15:25 PM): heck, it's a good way to experiment with strats as well
TheBigBossman007 (11:15:31 PM): I don't have a 64 emulator
TheBigBossman007 (11:15:33 PM): only SNES
ngdru (11:15:34 PM): and test out max's a bit
ngdru (11:15:42 PM): well, it's easy enough to get
ngdru (11:15:51 PM): of course you'd need a control stick of some sort
ngdru (11:15:57 PM): though a mouse/keyboard combo would work
ngdru (11:16:00 PM): it's not really realistic
ngdru (11:17:41 PM): put this www.amazon.co.jp/exec/obi...92-9049954
ngdru (11:17:44 PM): into babelfish
ngdru (11:17:52 PM): babelfish.altavista.com
TheBigBossman007 (11:18:29 PM): I don't even have a mouse for my laptop
TheBigBossman007 (11:18:36 PM): hard to play complex games
TheBigBossman007 (11:18:43 PM): such as Mk64
ngdru (11:19:02 PM): man, you need a joystick
ngdru (11:23:06 PM): perhaps for your record, the product number is B000069RZ2
ngdru (11:26:01 PM): ok, you are allowed to order from amazon.co.jp
ngdru (11:26:02 PM): www.amazon.co.jp/exec/obi...54-8942705
ngdru (11:26:05 PM): they have english help

I haven't seen the game on ebay...
Again, the product number is "B000069RZ2"

Exploitable Differences:

AS starts with Falcon 2 rather than unarmed
Infil PA has a new shield

Taka made a vid of all the major diffrences already...

Though you should check out how much time that can be saved on AS.

So JAP to NTSC compared wise?

The same framerate, same sync? It's better then PAL right?
