What a long road it has been. The quest to dual champ began in the start of June 2002 and ended August 14, 2005. 3+ years back I never thought in my wildest dreams I'd get to 1st on GE, let alone PD. I hardly knew anything about solo mission strats back before I found the elite. That's just how times have changed.
I thought I'd be best known for inventing the no Jaws strat on Aztec and nothing else 3 years back, or becoming GE champ to overtake Wouter over a year ago, but now I have earned ultimate prize: becoming 1st place on both GE and PD at the same time. That is, total points, total time, and total WRs for both games respectively. Honestly, it still hasn't completely sunk in yet since I am not fully proven, but in time I should become fully proven, which would be the first time ever being fully proven on GE and PD for anyone.
I obviously needed a lot of help to get here. The top players on both games and their videos helped me greatly to learn good strats that allowed me to get WRs or close to them for every level on both games. I thank all of them, especially Wouter Jansen and Ryan Dwyer for their videos/strats that helped me get here. They are the best players on their respective games imo, but they weren't too active when I was trying to over take them on their respective games. I had to play both games hard to get here.
I also have to thank old school GE and PD players for planting the seeds of many of the current strategies that I used at some point to get here (Snap, Paragon, Dark Avenger, Sterling, Wes, Kaleta for lookdown, etc.) I especially thank Derek Clark for introduing me to the elite and being the first person to validate my videos, as well as Expert, Jon, Jimbo, Dan, and soon Wouter for making proof videos. Jon, FW, and Mike (rpauk) also get many thanks for getting me the PAL console + PD to finally get over the hump on PD. I dunno if I would have gotten a PAL system myself if it weren't for you guys.
I think a few things that greatly increased my PR speed were the use of 1.2, the dot on GE (thank to Kaleta for that), NTSC for all of GE and almost everything on PD, and again videos to teach me the proper way to play levels. It was one hell of a ride, but rest assured I haven't retired just yet even though school is coming up very soon now. Post your thoughts on this hard-earned feat!
