'bout time Greg;)  That must have been some run. I do believe i'm going to force you to go for 1:14. Only need to improve 0.3 or so.

Also good job on 1:15, now Ryan has to get it.. heh.

I ain't on the ranks:b

The real pwn is on Greg. Seeing as 1:16 PAL is the hardest air base time ever achieved, for sure and he got pwned instantly by Dan.

9.9 ground or better, hard to tell.
High 28 turning into the blue corridor
38.9 door before panels
49.6ish last panel
Would be high 52 door
Low 1:02 pause in basement for reload
I think it was a high 1:09

Vid is in my getfile, Ramza's getfile, Wouter's getfile and Ngamer's getfile. Carvone has it too, just ask around.

EDIT: Maybe 4 hours total, but only 7 minutes after discovering new basement tricks.

i got it as well...
omg, i thought all you needed for 110 was a 51 generator, that made me feel better about my 53/54, 49.6 is insane...

well done. what you think the max would be?

1:08 would be the human max. My 1st/2nd panels could have been better had I not been trying to disarm the guard. And I also strafed gayly close to the wall before the generator. My turn immediately after killing the 3rd basement guard was a bit gay, and I could always not pause to reload in the basement. Doing that with a great run could get 1:08.

seeing those TTs, a low 49 gen is possible
I used to get 9.8 ground (on 1:09 was 9.9 too... Karl?)
my buttons pressing is slower, for those TTs
i could do lower than 38.9 doors and still get 49.6 generators
if pressing from farther than mine (not hard) could from .1 to .3
If someone can do the 52 door with left strafe, as fast as with right, could save a strafe change (.1?) and kill first one with left strafe (hard to do everytime, for me at least)
YE had an idea of full right strafe on 4th guard down basement (way hard) and with right strafe after pausing
with all that going right, 1:08 is not that far, and maybe if someone really try this (wouter? :p ) and get good at this, 107 is possible
Some preety small mistakes i could see on YE's 1:09, low 49 gen is possible by sure

I can't really figure out how much this will save... but...

At the end of CS A and SA, run down to elvis's ship, then run back to the pres and start pushing him. He's running fairly fast already.. so it might not save much. meh.

He won't stop... but I also noticed that's he's running *really* fast... and the frame rate is also *really* bad... and pushing achieves very little, if you can even make contact with him.

does running behind him improve the frame rate at all?

I imagine it makes it worse... but i don't think that a bad frame rate affects the pres's speed.

Meh, it's a bad trick. Everyone forget it:b

The areas you could push him in are too stucky, and I think it'd be slower anyway - he runs really fast when "sprinting". Plus with the new strat we're only near him at the steep tunnel. I don't think it would work well. Give it a shot though, perhaps.

He has 2 speeds. One where he's out on a morning jog, one where he's running from the shame of previous presidents (fast):)

edit: sprinting: running fast.

K... Let's walk through this run. pun?

*Implied a new trick for the very first time on the 2nd guard. It's quite comical.
*2 grenades for the 2 robots
*Sensed a grenade explosion to my left as i was throwing the comms rider so i went around the long way, getting stuck for about 8 seconds.
*Looked down and ran past the 2 evil guys. Unhurt.
*Stole a grenade from guy near hole.
*Good robot and technician etc. Made the lift w/o closing it (didn't want to risk re-opening). Pwned guards inside
*Start shaking here
*Rambo past guards on walkways. Look down. Unhurt.
*Didn't shut lift door, turned around, did so.
*Safe and slow end.
*151.60

I'll play for better at Greg's.

edit: Seems an appropriate record for the half century wr post.:hat

What are some targets for the Pelagic WRs?

Here's what I have so far...Someone please confirm if these could get the records...
Agent:
8.9ish X-ray door
28.0ish Speech Skip
42-43? door before big door

SA:
11.3ish first door in 4guard room
22.5ish Objective 3 room door (crate room)
Mid 37 Speech skip
49? X-ray room
I forget the rest

PA:
12ish first door in 4guard room
Mid 23s Objective 4 room door (crate room)
39 ish first scientist punchout
49? speech skip
103-104 X-ray
Low 130s at Elvis, I think

Are those enough for the records?  Or should I improve somewhere?

On 1:38... I'll just post some convo:

YourElitenessPD: So what happens in the run?
Jugad or J3: well
Jugad or J3: walk up to scientist
Jugad or J3: wait for ages
Jugad or J3: because he was slow
Jugad or J3: take out gurney
Jugad or J3: leave
Jugad or J3: get stuck going through doors
Jugad or J3: go off the path a bit because of a guy
Jugad or J3: get a slow brown room TT
Jugad or J3: get in lift etc
Jugad or J3: pump out the end
Jugad or J3: do a sub 21 finish

Some actual TTs:

19.1 door (no idea how i managed that off this run. Greg and I are quite confused)
35.1 door
something like a 54 lift
118.01 lift
.85 finish i think

26.0 first lift shut
39.5 hole
50.4 door to showers

Obviously you should enter in left door, since the lab clothes are closer to that end, then do an about face, why doesn't anyone else do this?

1:27.9 X-ray complete
1:50.5 glass door
Really slow ending, cost me 2:22

27.1 2nd lift shut
40.1 hole
50.7 shower door
1:28.2 X-ray fade
1:49.5 glass door
2:08.3 lab access

I also did a 2:23 with a 29.0 2nd lift. ;)

I'm a bit confused as to what the actual moments are.  The X-ray fade time is the first decimal I see after the last message disappears.  The glass door time is the moment the door opens, not when I go through.  Is this right?

My Xray fade is the last decimal I see before it completes. So it's the decimal I see when I'm pausing.

In that case, you don't appear to do anything majorly insane in that run.

That disguise guard strat + shooting guard when that other guard is speaking must save quite a bit.

Good job everyone in your PRs/WRs lately.  I usually say something like this every once in a while.

What do you mean by the disguise guard strat? Shooting the guard whilst talking doesn't save anything though, just makes things easier.

« Reply #45 on: November 22, 2004, 01:32:00 am »
Uhh, 40-41 holes?  Why not low 39?

By the way - I'm not sure if I've shared this...but after you get out of the hole at the start, you go up the ramp, and then down the first one...punch out the guard, and pause as you do...pick his gun, and pull out your X-ray...if you shoot going down ramp like normal but with X-ray, the guards come much faster/more consistent.

Sure it does.  I ran straight to kill him after the talking thing rather than strafing to where the keycard is.  You can better judge picking it up too.

I guess when you look at it that way it "saves time"... making the pickup optimal every time rather that sometimes.

Nice thinking Josh; I doubt anyone did that already.

Rescue SA 2:20

26 flat lift
39.5 hole
Had like every autodoor in hallway open
1:16 opening first door to Xray room
1:23 Xray start (missed the button :x )
1:27 Xray end
1:49 (middish) door
Door closed
2:07 (low) message appear
This must have been a high 2:20
