Yeah, I'm totally wimping out because I'm afraid of 6 guards. I just can't handle them. I'm doing the old strat, you know? On PAL, beating Bryan's strafing and all.

5 minutes? It's been about 5 days! I don't see anyone with the brains enough yet to get even a PR!

Don't even winge about strat whoarding. 128 Defection strat??? I'm making you wait 1 week, not 6 months. Jeez-luweez

You're not beating Bryan's strafing from the target times you've given. Secondly, I'm the one who BROUGHT UP the possibility of this "strategy" (I didn't even consider it interesting) and am not getting anything in return about it. Still, I don't really care - it would just save a few minutes of my time like I said.

On the other hand, Defection PA strat was totally different because it fuc king destroyed the level. Plus Sucram and I had spent a healthy amount of time figuring out all the specifics ourselves and gift wrapping everything into a movie...

All I know is you haven't found my other trick for CI PA

You don't have a trick for CI PA that i don't know and is useful.

331.

47 door, late 58 Jon. Normal PAL TTs.

Used uber insano Jon luring technique that i made up. Push at late 119 despite a stuff up costing a second.

149 Jon despite leaving him too early after pushing. Luckily i invented a new strat on the spot and made him speed up.

No guards near the medpack. Gay guard near the remote mines which cost me 2 seconds.

Immediate medpack, 238 cinema. 256 meeting. 35 end is bad. 53 is good. etc. Gayest WR this level has ever had.

The only other "obvious" thing that most newbs try on this level and like "omfgwtflol!1111 this is teh timesaver2212" is breaking the glass with the devestator at the end and dropping down...this, of course, would involve saving the hostages (edit: holo hostages, that is) in one shot so you actually have another shot to use...that means both have to survive in firing range or you will fail. And Carrington would probably have to talk right away because you will probably have to wait...which, I'm pretty sure if you complete right at the explosion, you still have to wait anyways...but it may be a few seconds faster anyways.
That's the only thing I could think of :rolleyes

Breaking the glass would save 1 or 2 sec. If obj 2 completes fast, which it does for Matt's strat most likely, then you could probably break it and not have to wait for Carrington, at least for NTSC.

Correct. He just gets records that are on easy, underplayed levels because:

a) All the other good players are inactive.

b) Someone else made a nice new strat and he has 90 hours per day since he doesn't really go to school and he is gay and has no life.

Notice that most of the untieds Karl did set over the last year still stand.

Taped, yes. Karl still has your account because he never signed out of it. If he does, he won't be able to sign in again. Ezboard will sign him out automatically after a while anyway because it's gay. You'll also notice his post count was reset... that's because we stopped it's membership, but Karl started it again when he posted.

I have no idea how low this can go, but it's going to be easy as hell since I can kill the guards near the last alarm rather than skipping them.

I watched my tape again and discovered my first room was horrible.

I cut the cinema a few seconds in, after she's rolled and the camera shows the guys standing near the door. I got one CMP from this room, and picked it up late, too. I had already switched to mines. So I switched back and killed the guy near the switch for more ammo (26 shots now). 2nd room was okay. I killed those two guards like normal, the patrolling one was way over near the far door, so I killed him first. I do the buttons and everything just like you now, doing it all in left strafe is too hard because you swing out underneath the ramp and get stuck after the 3rd switch.

If it's that strat his tts doesnt make any sense. Since he got 44.5 Lift, same for me and YE on our 1:48s. So he gained 5secs on us from first lift to the end. I would say Broke glass for more than 1 secs gain. But beside that I dont see how he did it. He gained a lot of time upstairs on us too, like over 2-3secs. So he did something new upstairs that we dont.

yeah, it's something like not going to that room to shoot the obj 4 stuff, but use that door on other side, and shoot over the wall or something. you don't have to go way round, so that saves around 4 or so. dunno

Maian PA 2:04 strat
First, watch my 1:56 SA vid (or preferably my 1:54 when it gets made). It's pretty psycho, during practice I've decided the first corridor is best done unarmed. You'd want a pretty instant door opening, then take out the bed with 15 shots and call the lift through the wall with the other 15 shots. Disarm guard on right, and hot foot it through to a 1:10 - 1:12 lift shut (1:56 SA was a 1:12 lift shut). When you go over the catwalks near the ship, fire a clip into it along the way. Reload, kill the guard near the lift and stand in the lift doorway (will most likely have to reopen it). Take out the ship from here and step back so the lift will close (1:43). 20 second ending on NTSC, but allow one second for being cautious.

You either catch a 1:43 lift, or you don't catch it at all. That's only if you watch all the cinema (which I will).

Thankyou for that. I may try it, but it may prove too hard. I haven't been able to get below 2:15 with the "normal" strategy. The lift isn't fast enough. Sometimes I only get 2:20!

fornever or whoever you are, lifts can be fast or slow, the variation is between 1:51 - 1:57, but at least I get 1:51 lift each 10 min or so. Just takes a little of time.
