How come in the fast videoes they don't shoot the sensitive information from near where you start the level? That's way faster!

Erm, because you don't have the equipment to shoot out the sensitive information at the start of the level?

Even if you did have the Devastator, you would still have to go up there as you would normally playing out PA. And the Laser doesn't even work until Carrington says his lines that make you go up there...

Unfortunately it seems to be impossible to blow up the test tubes with an explosion in the firing range. $:\$
