Is It Normal?
« on: February 05, 2004, 09:11:00 am »
To have a dream of achieving a world record? Last night I dreampt I was playing P2 PA and got 2:10. The run was perfectly visioned and I was angry when I woke up to find no record. Just wondered if any of you guys have suffered the same thing? As if you haven't Wouter... :p

Recently I dreamt that I got WAR! A 0:23 with a new strat that allowed you to continue the level at a certain point after you died next time you retried :lol

Hah I had dreams with crazy PR's on GE/PD and some other games, I can't recall the pr's but I'm sure I had a lot.

Usually that happens when you try the level a lot, like the first time I got Chicago A 0:16, I kept dreaming with the level the days before I got it. And Wouter's got a nightmare about someone tying his Bunker 17, lol.

I've never dreamed a full run before, but I dream about videos games quite a bit.  But it almost always is something where I'm actually inside the game, having to play everything out in real life.  I've had some PD dreams like that in the past, but it seems to happen most often when I'm in the middle of beating a Zelda game.

On a side note, I sometimes dream about just Elite-type stuff.  For instance, the night before last I had a vision of the PD rankings, and to my horror both Kingpin and Mallow had been readded.  Kingpin was ranked 9th, and Mallow was 18th.  Talk about crazy...

yeah thats right Vitor :o

also, my latest dream was about getting bunker 1 00 1:06.. I never see the run in my dream, just the feeling that I was playing is there and suddenly you see that screen with the ownage time.. then you wake up and realise it was a shitty dream to get you all excited thinking you'd never have to play it again, but then the nightmare has yet to end.

Wow... this is a pathetic topic.
But sadly enough, I too have dreamt about video games.
Not Perfect Dark or Goldeneye though. I don't think I've played them long enough for that yet.

But really, we're not so unusual.  There was a poll about this just last month on GameFAQs, and it turns out 80% of gamers dream about gaming at least once in a while.

Everyone who's played Tetris for more than twenty minutes dreams about it that night. TRUE. Well, most people.

I think that the more simple the game, the more likely you are to suffer. I had been playing Tetris one time and just couldn't shut myself down when trying to sleep. In play you can get into a mad frenzy when things get tough and so when I closed my eyes to relax and sleep that night my mind was just so active after having finished. I can see why many people would dream about Tetris though Sam as I have myself. That was my first PD dream though and its suspiciously timed considering I stopped playing so long ago.

Before the new Caverns 00A strat came out, I dreamt about getting an AWESOME run that resulted in a 2:10, I woke up and realized it was a dream. A few weeks later after the new strat came out and I finally pulled it off, I got 2:04...

I've dreamt about the old times playing Aztec 00A also, but nothing special.
