Whoever thinks they're better than a darksim are way off. You need to achieve an accuracy rate of 70-90%; You're going to have to learn how to walk each level backwards perfectly (every single one), and to know which function to use on every gun. If you can do all this consider yourself like a darkhuman or whatever (I doubt anyone can do this). :hat

Let me put it like this.

It is entirely possible to a) know a level backwards, b) keep your accuracy regularly above 70% and c) know the functions of every weapon. This is a PIECE OF CAKE.

What IS impossible is to
- Run, shoot and reload as fast as a DarkSim
- Open doors while facing away from them like a DarkSim
- Know EXACTLY where every other player on the level is at all times, without the radar being turned on
- and all the other lame programming cheats that Rare used as an alternative to making their sims smarter.

Exactly what Sam said. The thing is, half the people here can easily cane 8 darks all against them on the good old LTK, complex blah settings but nobody wouldn stand a chance against 8 humans. Humans are smart, darks are skilled. Being smarter (almost) always wins. Once a human is really cunning and has skill they become unbeatable, even against darks. Most people here are smart AND have skill.

Shoot: If you're talking about Falcons, maybe but we can shoot as fast as them.
Reload: True they reload as fast as hell

Why don't you take a closer look at how fast they shoot... say a Magnum, or LX. I know it is much faster than any human player can fire the weapon. Plus they are just as accurate with a Reaper as they are with a K7 Avenger. That still pisses me off. lol

You don't need to meet any of those requirements to be better than a Darksim. You only have to kill him more than he kills you.

Correction. Humans are more CHEAP. I know idiots who hide behind doors with like super dragons and just camps there. Most people are cheap rather smart or brave. :hat

However humans are smart enough to look at the other players screen and see that he/she is hiding behind a door like a stupid f**k and then blow the hell out of them. darksims are programmed to find and destroy, they cannot ambush, or use strategy to their advantage. They are predictable, and will always take the quickest route to get where you are. All one has to be able to do is know the levels fairly well, be a pretty good shot with basic weapons, have the intelligence to strafe and turn controller style 1.2 on (lol), and use his brain. This is why humans will ALWAYS be better than computers, because we can think, reason, choose what to do in different situations. In all aspects, we are unpredictable and unreliable, bound to do anything at anytime. I dont know about you guys, but I would be scared shitless to play myself in a game of PD, because I am a cunning bastard, and use weakness against my opponents. Its much more fun and challenging to play against humans, because they learn your strategies, and become smarter as you play. And when you die it isnt because your opponent has supernatural abilities, its because they outmatched you fair and square, and have proven themselves as elite. Darksims will always stand under us.

Exactly. I had an idea that for PD0 they could have an analysis mode were you play a few random games and the computer analyses your actions and programs a sim like you so then you could actually play something similar to youself. I'd be scared as well. I'm pure evil and some of my tactics are cheap while others are works of pure genius although I'd know them all so it'd be easy to avoid them but it'd also be the best training I could ever do. I'd be able to figure out how to beat my strat and then improve it in such a way that my beating method no longer worked and stuff. Ah well. It was an idea...

I have days and days on combat sim, and outside of working on every last strategy of challenge30, I never play sims. Sims are fake, and predictable because they are programmed. Play other humans who are respectable players if you want to judge "how good" you are.

I have all of them. And pictures of you. And where you live. ie no i don't.

A thing that would allow sims to play well is a random function. where they don't always take the fastest route, but a random route. And sometimes they wait, sometimes creep, sometimes charge into rooms etc. They randomly, but intuitively (sp?) choose which gun to get.

Sims may also decide not to come and get you if you haven't moved outside a small area for over 5 seconds to stop you camping for an easy kill on them.

I would also LOVE to see some videos of elite players playing combat simulator, or other forms of displaying extreme skill! I recorded a session of temple combat simulation where I just kept on walking shooting every sim in the head/chest with my magnum, not missing once in about 15 shots, but then I happened to overdub it =(((
