Greetings from the grand Newbieee
« on: October 29, 2003, 08:36:00 am »
I would like to introduce myself with a long ass post with lots of eloquently spoken things and stuff. But I dont feel like typing for a half an hour and prolly most dont feel like reading for half an hour.

Anyway, just got PD, I'm very hooked on it. I played a lot of GE before a few years ago. But wasn't aware of the level of competition going on for it.

I'm currently doing the Perfect agent mode. And I will try to set some good times after completition.

I saw some vids and they're awesome, you guys rule. Especially for dissecting the game like you people do.

Speedy times page pending.

Yes..............must....have....times ::zombie noises::

Yeah, a word of advice from someone that's taken a lot of heat just for being a passionate player: Careful about trying to suggest new things to some of these guys, or for some even that there is anything more to this game than playing for Solo times.  Too many of them have either invested too much time to admit of any doubt that what they're doing is the best thing possible, and too many are surprisingly arrogant, considering how bizarre and insignificant this past time is to the world-at-large.

Meanwhile, you've found a great place to meet talented, insightful, even eloquent gamers.  And lest I forget, Kudos! for choosing Perfect Dark -- gaming's the sh.it, and PD allows for some of the most kickass gaming ever.

See you around.

startstrats: we care about the solo as thats what this forum is about IN ITS SOLE AND ENTIRITY. you seem to think sneaking mutli in is what we want we dont. So maybe its not an important thing to the world at whole. but we enjoy what we do and it doesnt harm anyone so let us be happy. and stop being so holier than how.

Gotta go with plum.  If we wanted to do stuff other than solo missions we would go somewhere ELSE to do it.  This site is for Solo missions only.

You know what y'all's motto should be?  "Can't Stop Flaming!"

If you no-minds still have a bone to pick with me, at least do it in Greetings From TGE and leave this poor guy's topic alone, that's just indecent!

Edit -- and Plum, "in its sole and entirety" is not a sensical phrase...and it's "holier than THOU", not holier than how (holier?? and how!).  Unless you already (one would hope) knew that.

Translation of StratsStrats's post (EDIT: The one a few posts ago):

Yes..............must....advertise....my board ::zombie noises::

Yeah, a word of advice from someone that's taken a lot of flaming just for being a gay spammer: Careful about trying to advertise new sites to some of these guys, or for some even that there are other sites out there. Too many of them actually enjoy playing the solo missions to admit of any doubt that what they're doing is the most fun thing possible, and too many are surprisingly defensive when men-loving hippies such as myself try to spam their boards and advertise my site.

Meanwhile, you've found a great place to meet annoying, homosexual, even hated gamers (such as myself). And lest I forget, I am gay! for choosing the Perfect Dark Elite board to spam-- I am sh.it, and I allow some kissass action all the time.

See you around ;)

LOL, I am clearly bored.

omg.. holier just means you have a bigger hole.. because of all the action it gets.

and like.. would you go to a (MALE) gaybar taking all females with you, then go and try to make couples between one of the females and one gay. or whatever amount. If you answer with no, then you are a hypocrite, since you're doing the same here, this is pure single player, there is a @#%$ multi board. You don't go to a ballet lesson hoping to learn chess.
sexy, this

lol, Thanks for the welcomes, it's like the same discussion seems to be all over this board.

But anyway I didn't really go into the combat sim (yet)
But I came here because of my interest in the solo missions. I found that it's the place where the real competition seems to be when I checked on the net. So there you go!

Grand newbieeee, meet Your Eliteness.  I can vouch for his talent...he did well in a Combat Simulator challenge I posted a while back, earning Multiplayer of the Month.  The problem is, I had to later strip him of the title because his attitude SUCKED.  Take him or leave him.

I've personally left him but he just can't seem to leave me...

(There YE, if you can't make your flames relevant I guess I'll have to do it myself, huh?)

And don't listen to SS about YE.  Your Eliteness is really cool.  He just doesn't like SS spamming around about useless things, which is a valid reason.  StartsStrats should be banned, but then we've all seen his dedication in coming here.  He'll just make another account or something to get around that.

Does every newbie get the goatse treatment in here? I've seen that site (and worse) way back in 2000.

But I'll act shocked if thats what y'all want.

Oh contraire, Sam. No goatse links anymore. At least, if Youse sees them.

Wow, I can't believe this "StartStrats" guy is still here. He's just as annoying as last time I saw him. Dude, it looks like people don't really want you here. If I were in your shoes, my feet would probably hurt...and I'd leave.

alright super dude.. i'll make it simple for ya.. startsstrats is a fag, the fact that this is a solo community means nothing, we should play multi cuz he says so.. and we're the ignorant ones |I

and.. people here are wierd.. all these years of competitive gaming get to their heads.

actually super, i play solo as well...i just *vastly prefer* combat simulator.  i'm slowly accumulating times (last update oct 31), though i am doing so without consulting vids or elite strats.  meanwhile, Greetings from the Grand Experiment is simply a newsletter topic --and one that mods know about and have apparently been willing to tolerate (so don't listen to the guys that try to flame me on behalf of the entire 1337)-- to inform people of goings-on at an OBVIOUSLY VERY RELEVANT (regardless of what some might say) sister site; unfortunately, it is flamed on a regular basis and i am occasionally compelled to try to shoo the naysayers in order to keep the place nice and respectable-like.  otherwise, the topic is a great place to find fun resources and discussions, from a number of different elites new and old.  all constructive commentary is welcomed.
