45:

- best deaths for both barons that matter
- good strafing
- probably .999999999, wasnt too sure it was 45, hard to tell, music was off
- doubt Ill go for 45s on sa/00a, i tried a bit and did a 47 on sa, really annoying shit, 46 is OK there.

Clemens thought at one point that 90% of the PRs he has now were impossible.

I also want to thank wouter for his advice on not going into the cloud of smoke at the end to see what the barons death was, since the game lags more, and it might have costed me 45 on this run if i did so, so thanks!

1:14:32... and now this... i thought breaking 1:14:59 would be insane but doable... do you think times will ever get into the 1:13's? i bet if it ever does... it will forever stay in the 1:13's

hahaha you honestly think 1:12 will be here... im not saying its humanly possible... but by whenever the times get ... if they do get to 1:13 i bet rayan and clemens will be burnt out on the game... maybe? and then who else will push the game further than it already is... i dont see anyone being as ridiculous as them 2 ever again, which is why i dont see any new players in the future getting even past the 1:19 mark.. 30 seconds still needs to be cut off the times in order for the 1:13 barrier to be broken... then after that i dont see where a minute would get cut off... so 1:12 to me i would say impossible... unless aztec can be completed in 45 seconds

This games still strong after 10 years and STILL we see untieds every week. Maybe not by 1 particular person, but the top players combined will more than likely achieve 1:12:xx. I mean, just take a long hard look at the World Rankings, sure they're all mighty impressive but by no means are they all maxed.

i know they are not all maxed... but i would say half the levels are very close, mostly agent levels... but others like streets, archives and other levels really cant use much improvments... maybe a couple of seconds if that.

Take 1 second of all levels, you get 1 minute. Obviously 1 or 2 of them probably cannot be beaten. But there's a few levels that can be beaten by 2 - 3 maybe even more.  Somethings to take into consideration, there's archived discussions about Depot 27 being maxed. Imagine suggesting to Clemmy 21 Bunker 1 might happen when he got 22. Surface 2 49 was impossible. My point is, with Clemens, Rayan, Bryan about nothing is maxed. Nothing. As long as them 3 continue to play we will see that barrier broken.

lots of levels can still lose even 4-7 seconds, namely cavs 00, silo 00, control SA/00, trains maybe

Yeah, alot of levels are not maxed and yes, some levels can even be improved with like 3-4 seconds or whatever. I'm only asking, is that also possible with current strats?

well, maybe not current WR strat, but certainly with only a few tweaks, like faster warps, more risky guard take outs, insane strafing shots and stuff like that.

A serious question in technical problems, I only post it here because noone goes there. And I really think it's something that could do with testing.

Oh yes, all DVD recorders have lag (some even huge amounts).  Look at the Speed Demos Archive tech support forum for ways to get around it.  I personally use a switcher/splitter thing even though my recorder doesn't seem like it has lag, but better than safe than sorry.  Though I hope my switcher doesn't have lag.

Oh and congrats on all the recent WRs everyone!

Edit: And most HDTVs will lag with videogames too.

To overcome that I connect my N64 to my VCR, then the DVD recorder to my VCR too trough my second scart on the VCR and then I have the game show up on my TV trough both scart channels trough the VCR. Now one of those channels it's just the game showing up on the VCR without the lag, the other is it showing up trough the VCR and DVD so I can record it on that channel and play on the other without the lag looooool that made it sound so complicated.

But the good thing with this is that I can also record on my VCR and DVD recorder at the same time in case the other would screw up.

ya know... I put the actual question in technical problems so it didn't clog up this topic.

But thanks for the relpys. I'm gonna try this Illu's way, having it go through the VCR aswell as DVD Recorder sounds purty cool.

Time was untied when set.

407:
- great start, easily 405 pace, but then missed warping first blue door for no reason
- decent glass, normal strat.
- A was up at least .3-.4 before i entered the lift, high 18 ending (guards fucked with me after Nat finished)
