Thanks man and yeah, I am still very new to this game, since Perfect Dark XBLA is my main game, so I didn't know he could trap you lol.

I do plan on lowering this someday and this run made me realize my 1:11 on 00A is very bad :P

Why is it im waiting by the boat for the hostages for like 20 secs+ on frig? I notice players look back towards the ramp.. would this help at all?

the reason for looking back is so you dont die from a random guard while waiting for the hostages :P
note that hostages dont like to escape if they are in sight

Ok thanks flicker.. il just keep grinding it then till i get a good time. I keep getting 135s though its annoying. Im glad now that its nothing im doing wrong.

Kinda odd to see you use 1.1 :O

the new mine strat seems to help quite a bit, plus good thinking for the protect! that looks more consistent and bearable

also nice easy ending

I remember thinking a great time could be around 8:30 back then, with all the new stuff I guess it will be more like 7:00 now?

Keep it up! it's really great to see your fast progress, and even though the hardest 2 are left, I'm confident that you will do them, I'm only wondering how soon. my guess is train in about 3 days, and silo about a week after. any which way it will be super awesome

Train is gonna be harder than every other level combined (first 18 beaten) from the bit I've played it. I'm forced to use 1.1 pretty much the entire level. I don't think beating it in a few days is reasonable, more like a few weeks.

Yeah I had a sub 8 min pace on Control where I died late, but still completed like my 3rd best pace or something. That protect strat is pretty consistent unless a guard doesn't blow up the glass, then you're in trouble.

right, but I'm pretty sure that was the same way for the old strats, so that's okay ;P

lol would be funny if the 1.2 vets all get train with 1.1 and then me as 1.1 vet getting it with 1.2. I will probably use 1.1 there too though, but who knows

There are ways to peek around corners with 1.2, like walking forward and back diagonally or hold R aimer while holding forward and then very briefly letting go of R aim, probably still smoother with 1.1 though. How about 2.x?

I've been practicing just switching control styles a bunch of times. I 1.2 the parts where you just wait to laser guards/shoot guards more in the open and 1.1 the parts where you need to peak around the corner.

Well I had a troll death where 2 blue hat guards came back to the luring spot at the same time (from mid way through 5th car, 3 of the 4 random guards were dead also). I just couldn't handle that situation since the first guy didn't see me when I had the door open, then both moved near the door. I killed the first one, but then the door wouldn't close to save me from the other guard shooting at me. I dunno if I was blocking the way or if the other guard that died prevented the door from closing with a choking death or something of the like.

I might actually keep going on this level, but not sure yet. I've had 5th cars that were 5 minutes faster than this run before, so there's plenty of meat left in terms of cutting off time. I think the early 4th car part can be more aggressive also.

Somehow Mojo chose to include footage from Patrik's Frigate run as well as my Pelagic II run.

Can those of you who are more into videogames than me give your thoughts on this Top 10? Is it reasonable to rank DLTK as 7th? Or should it be ranked higher? Does the "Nuzlock Challenge" really deserve 1st? etc

Very cool, but lol at Attack Ship unbeaten.

I used to play Pokemon competitively for years and at least in the first generation, Nuzlocke is cake if you know what you're doing and have a deep understanding of the mechanics. It's a difficult challenge as far as popular games and casual play goes though.

Thought I'd get some Silo DLTK discussion going again. I know there hasn't been anything new since Bozon completed the level. I'm actually trying to theorize a 1 nade only run (gonna be used for he guards just after silver crate part, that's a must). I have found a way to lure all 6 guards after the 2nd room (catwalk area) without being hit. I haven't made up a good strat to kill them off yet, but I guess I could just do it the same way Bozon killed the guards shortly after the 2nd room and use the smaller console/left barrel for those earlier guards instead. Post your thoughts on the idea of doing a 1 nade only run. Obviously I would have to run the 3 guards just before the 3rd room (JAP + BA does make this possible) and time it so the patrolling guard is NOT on the stairs. I haven't put much time into this level yet so don't expect much out of me in a while..

I was also wondering, is it realistic/possible to farm nades off of scientists in Silo?

I guess I never tried farming scientists for nades..

Anyway my strat has changed again. I realized that the odds to farm a nade in the silver crate area are too good to pass up. In other words, I will farm an early nade and kill the 3 guards (or maybe lure a couple more also) at the hall before the 3rd room. If I get 2 early nades, I would still use the same strat and just not have to worry about farming a silver crate nade. The 6 guard lure strat is reasonable enough to do for me, and with my pace, I get to that door around 4:40 without having to throw away much time, if any at all. My 3 early nade strat would be to also then use one to kill the back 2 guards in the silver crate area (highly unlikely scenario but still need a plan should it ever happen). Hopefully this weekend or so I will get a rough run down with 0% damage completed so that I can finally do actual attempts.

You definitely made that look easy, but I suppose that's how it is when the guards cooperate.

Not sure how you ended up taking your BA shot? Did you get stuck or make a mistiming?

What I do know is the game's appropriately designed. Any harder means fewer attempts at it and any easier then the game can be put down. You do deserve a reward because you're not being handed victory from what I can tell.
