rofl, so because you like a few "popular" things you all of a sudden lost your individuality? If you like something, and discover later that millions of others also like it, you need to stop liking it because it's not "individual"? That's the opposite of individuality, since you're just being dictated what to like (in your case, the opposite of whatever is popular.)
Popular things serve common base for everyone. For example, celebrities are people we can talk about almost like our friends, but everyone knows them, so they are common "friends" for everyone in the world. This is how anything popular works. People who are too "individual" often have trouble integrating themselves into society and leading successful lives, since whether you like it or not "society" is something popular that you really have to abide by if you want to live a fulfilled life.
