It's hard to get 1:48 with a hole entry like that. You really want to do a tight turn onto the ladder and fall into the hole without losing momentum. It helps so much to enter the hole without losing any speed, although it isnt that easy to do.

Yeah you can lose anywhere from 1-5 bars. I think it helps avoid backboosts there though. And on an ideal run I self boost 4 times between key hut and safe hut...

I also made a vid of a 1:49 where I accidentally backboosted with one of those self boosts.

yeah and then later I tried 00A and got this super lucky run first try but it was just like 148.99 pace with a sick ending and i fucked up the GL shot just barely and got a 151 ahaha... then after that i got completely raped for 30 minutes straight at the start till i rage quit.

I just figured I'd see how long it took to dupe this... took about 30 minutes to get used to the level again. The run doesn't look outstanding. Bad first room exit, boost after Nat didn't help, and ending I think was a bit botched. I guess I could go for 54.

Terrible stuck on the return around 2:47 on the clock. I still haven't failed a 2:19 since playing again. If someone good at Statue could confirm this was probably 2:19 without the stuck, I'd appreciate that. I appear to have lost 0.8 seconds there.

Your start is like a typicall low 220 pace but then you got two boosts which made it 2:19 pace so yes, you probably lost 2:19 with that stuck.

Just got my 7th Statue SA 2:20 completed. Choked the helicopter getting stuck, and then missed the FR by miles, you could physically see it by the time I got there.

Up to 17 2:19 failed E and 1 2:19 failed B (with E complete.)

I think I'm done with this level.

I want to say worst luck in GE history. Just a different kind of luck than failed Frigate runs I guess.

Yeah it seems to be 9. Interrestingly though, one of the spots has only half the probability of the rest. This is because GE seeds a byte (0-255) and then checks in intervals of 30 for the first 8 spots. I.e:

Is seeded byte <= 30? Put FR in spot 1. Else continue. (Since this includes 0, this spot has a slightly higher probability than the other positions, 31 / 256 = 12.1%)
Is seeded byte <= 60? Put FR in spot 2. Else continue. (this is the best spot)

...

Is seeded byte <= 240? ...

Since a byte has a maximum value of 255, there only 241 - 255 left. So instead of an interval of 30 there's only 15 for the last spot. Fortunately though, this happens to be the worst possible spot :P

Conclusion: The probability for best FR is 30 / 256 = 11.71% (1 in 8.53)

I'm not an expert in this level, but it seems like you kill trev way too safe, gotta strafe more there and risk the headshot. I don't know if Trev was slow to the hut on this run, i only go by my converter music :P But i assume you know that already.

Watch my cradle 34 on youtube as well. Having a super fast trev can make all the difference if you dont do the trev kill like boss did. I would recommend using boss 34 strat for 34 (sorry if this is the strat you used, i havent seen your low 35 yet, just basing it on what marc said )

The Boss 34 strat is the strat I used when I was racing Boss for 34 back in 2005. We have that comparison vid where he has like 34.97 and I have 35.03.

Lately I've been using the Ace strat... I dunno I cake 35s like it's nothing. I had 4 or 5 live last night, which is what I average in every session, but usually the music seems .2-.3 slow for 34, so maybe I need to speed that up.

We will see.

Definitely need to speed it up, that trev kill was way too safe. And I wouldnt recommend the Ace strat either, Boss strat is the best for 34, you just won't dupe 35's as often but who cares about dupes anyway.

Yeah ace strat was good for 35 but not really 34. I only duped 34 once with it and i tried for a while, its definitely not consistent at all for 34. With boss strat all you need is a decent trev and you have a fair chance at 34 every time you kill him.

this is getting so ridicilous now and number 10 was .0 or .1, too close to 47 to be true, I also had a 47 A fail as well and one missed ts 47 pace.
