A new looking strat?  Can it be done on console?

I haven't actually finished this one yet but simply waiting out the countdown in the end gave the final time...

LOL, I remember when I joined and the TAS was like 1:37 and that seemed pretty good. seems like TAS is pretty much perfection these days.

Run is finally finished!

Btw, the warp through door after Golden Gun is at least on emulator extremely easy to do even in real time(50% success rate?). Someone should test that on console.

Because of the bad quality and graphical glitches of the first encode, I decided to make a better encode of the last five levels that were whoarded:

Nice work, I salute you for that mine in the radio room.

On a sidenote, I prefer TASes that do not abuse the idea of saving -> play a section in an ultrarisky fashion -> revert to save state ten times until you survived that section to the fullest (compare: Silo DLTK Tas) because the run results in something that not even a perfect gaming god could do in reasonable time on a console. Let's assume you risk 9 sections with 10% survival odds: With savestates you need about 10*9 = 90 attempts, without them you need 10^9 = 1.000.000.000 attempts :-(

But I know that it's all just for fun and new best times, so just keep up the good work!

cool run... how many rerecords? the headshot memory address sure comes in handy in DLTK when shooting guards from far away. i'll have to update the TAS times page, you cut a huge junk from the DLTK total time.

Dam 00A 1:46 (.90)

No lookdown + Cinema :D

This is part of a new full run of this game that i'm working on and was supposed to be more entertainment/viewer-friendlyness oriented rather than speed. But it turns out i'm still .8 faster than my old record :p Since Mupen64 crashes whenever i try to capture and tasvideos is currently down vid will have to wait.

Oh nice, what improvements were you thinking of? Are you finishing the run?

I hardly used anything new in this run at all, so it might be possible to get a few more guards boost earlier, and use boxes for boosts later.

Also i noticed if you reduce Bond's forward speed so it still stays above 1.08(normal speed before he accelerates, i think the limit is around 67 on the TAS input plugin), you can instantly accelerate back to 1.35 by holding the analog stick all the way forward again. This might be useful when throwing the modem since it might be possible to keep the full speed and still make a good throw(usually you run into the boxes a bit which is probably still faster but looks kinda sloppy). There are probably lots of other spots in the game where it could be used.

And the aiming with crosshair indeed decelerates bond back to 1.08 even with 2.4 control style meaning there should quite a bit of time to gain on my TAS since i used it ALOT early on. Might've lost 1:43 on surface perhaps? Bunker 1 might go lower, Silo, definately Frigate, Maybe but probably not Surface 2...

Okay, here's a vid of the 1:46 Dam:

Goldeneye - Dam - 00 Agent - 1:46 (TAS)
Cinema is pretty cool in high resolution because you can see more to left and right.

According to what I've seen on the emulator FPS indicator, the cinema slows down the framerate slightly (maybe 1 or 2 FPS), so it should be disadvantage to use it, contrary to what many think, so I'm surprised you could improve it without lookdown and all, I don't really get it  :P

Bunker 1 00A 0:54.7 (again)

Didn't watch cinema this time so this is actually a bit faster than my old run. Also i could've saved more frames but since it wouldn't give 53 anyway i decided to go for entertainment instead.

At least low 54 is possible on this level with cinema watching, 53 probably requires another timesaver or a 4 boost ending or something. Might very well be possible with a perfect run.

Depot - 007 Max stats - 0:55 TAS
This run is somewhat sloppy, but I made this mostly to show off the hyper widescreen (cinema+16:9). You can see a lot more... the video is kinda flat though, so it would be best if you'd watch this on two widescreen monitors :P

I managed to warp the locked door at the end, probably because I was using the insane widescreen. Earlier it had only been warped in Turbo mode I think. I forgot to include the trainshot here, so it didn't save more than half a second. I didn't want to go back and redo the warp because it seemed kinda hard to do.

It's worth trying for normal speedruns too, if you want to try to get 24 or 23 on Agent. The first time I did the warp I didn't even use gun warp, I just ran towards the side of the door, and it went through.

Now all the major time saving levels on DLTK have been TASed, so the total DLTK time is just 35:58.

You could probably cut 45 seconds off Cradle.

My 1:32 on Cradle doesn't count for the total time because it has been done faster on console (by you, I believe :), so it would only improve total time by 8s.

But even if I could improve a time by 45, that's very minor compared to Jungle (19 min cut) and Depot (6 min cut) for instance.

By the way, here's henrik's new Bunker: Bunker - 00 Agent - 0:54 (TAS) by Henrik/Wyster

Henrik, when doing frigate you could consider this small timesaver: I once accidently ran through the pipes just if they weren't even there (didn't lose speed). I was in full speed rightstrafe while shooting lots of phantom bullets. Could save like 0.2-0.3 compared to your previous TAS.

Depot - Agent - 0:23 TAS
In addition to the door warp at the end, I also got a boost by attracting a guard at the intro.

I had some trouble getting 0:23, I thought it would be cake in TAS because the warp should save a lot (I guess the lag from cinema+16:9 makes it harder). I improved the ending until I got only two frames from 23, but I couldn't improve it anymore, but I optimized the warp and saved 0.3s, so the final time of this is 23.616. I had a two frames faster ending, but this ending was better.

This is my only TAS WR btw, if DLTK times are not counted. Train Agent is not entirely my WR because I only remade the ending for Henrik's TAS.
