Nice runs. A tip for Bunker 1, dont go into the computer room so far when Boris is going in...its not really necessary. Just run in when he goes in, into the doorway a little, and then get out of there and he should do his thing. I mention this because on my 231 I almost made it to the console when C completed, and you were like opening the first door, so you lost a good 2 seconds with the ending, maybe even 3, since your pause at glass was like 5 seconds faster than my 231.

Oh, thanks for the tip! Also opening the exit door first and running down the stairs while activating the alarm should also save a second. Also if skipping the the first cinema a little later, the first hat guard will appear 2 or 3 seconds earlier. Also that first guard i'm lureing... I waited too long for him. A more risky timesaver would be to run up to him and hope you hit him with yor first shot. A lot of factors can lower Bunker 1, but i'm not much for a grenade strat, as i wanna save it, in case that guard near Boris discovers me as he do most of the time. It's gay.

I don't feel like improving Bunker 1 now, i'm busy enough with Caverns 102

Yeah, hes a dick. I had like 20 runs that were better than my 231 where he saw me and ruined the run, but Id rather use the nade to save time and risk it. Also, i dont think theres any luck in it anyway. Its all in the angles you look, but its very hard to be consistent with that , especially when you get nervous on some insane run.

Isn't it any way you could always get unseen by him? Clemens mentioned something about angles, can you specify more? If it weren't for him this level would be awfully nice to play.

Yeah i found it very very irretating too, but found a more consistent way. Try do exactly like in my video. Right when you have killed the green guy, line yourself up with Boris like i did and when you are getting past the white crates, just turn the stick a little to the left so you are right to the left to Boris like you can clearly see in my video. Then i just use full lookdown and straight over to the brown box. Still irretating, but works like 30-50% of the time for me.

Ha that 2:29 was like a carbon copy of my 2:41, just way faster! I must be doing something wrong with Boris in the MF room too, cuz I thought you got a really good jump leaving there, better than I usually get, so I wish I knew what Dave did.

Do you guys ever have trouble with Boris not being at the table when you get there? All of a sudden my last few sessions he runs off somewhere shortly before I get there, and usually to some spot that screws up the run. He has to be the main reason I haven't broken 2:20 over the last few days.

Gotta shoot that guard fast right when he/you have opened the glass door. I had problems with this too. Just had to be faster that's all.

Oh, and regarding opening the end door first and then activating the alarm: yeah I've started doing that too, but occasionally, a single black guard will spawn immediately as I start running down the stairs when I do this. Maybe some TASers have some insight into what causes them to spawn or not spawn?

When I was first testing out the end strat, they seemed to spawn a lot when doing the door first which is why I started doing the alarm first. But then I saw TASes doing the door first and started using that with mostly success but a few spawns, luckily on no good runs though. Maybe it has to do with if that green guard's body has disappeared or not.

Alarm first seems to guarantee no spawn, but yeah door first saves about a second.

I do door first and never had a problem.

And yeah, Boris is a fag. Though it would save like 5 seconds or so if he ran in a good spot.

Yeah usually he's just leaving when I get there and will either run to somewhere else in the control room, walk over to by those stairs where the guard will see you, or walk all the way up to that area with the guards.

wow sick. Everything went perfect to glass part, really cant do much better than that. After vest going through drone was just sick. So ballsy. It might just be me, but I thought the strafing overall looked really slow. Plus some issues at the glass area. The first three rooms were fucking sweet but I reckon 1:37 is possible. Needless to say, awesome job Clemens. 1:40 isn't exactly a piece of cake.

2 first rooms where decent. Didn't build speed at door to the black room, so a little slobby. Ugly glass part. Fast route though and i'm also sure it was a low 140. 139 with slow route is very realistic. 138 with fast route if you push it, but still unlikely because the fast route doesn't even save 1 second.

And I dont really see where I lost so much time with the "strafing". My time lost was in the first room (my Z button is almost broke so I cant shoot the first guard as fast, also when I tried doing it like Ace I always got backed 3 or 4 times, so I just sacrificed a little time there for consistency), the glass area since I got shot into the table, and not holding speed on black room door since I usually got shot from behind by the crate guards when I did that or else the black room guards wouldnt cooperate, might be an NTSC problem, not sure really. None of that really has to do with strafing, and I guess I could have had better boosts in the 2nd room, since I ended up having a few extra hits which were wasted at the glass being shot into the table.

Don't worry about other commenting stupidly on your run Dave. They'll never really get it, before you actually play really intensely for a time like this. And congrats for breaking the 1:14 total time!
