YE:
I think liars should be treated with harsher standards. They should prove their ability to thus point, and if need be, unproved times and WRs should be stripped.
However in my personal opinion, Clemens' stunt was a fair bit different than having a fake time actually hit the rankings. I feel that he showed us he is capable of lying about a WR, but that he also doesn't have "what it takes" to allow that to affect the rankings. He realized his mistake on his own, corrected it, and IMO that could be from guilt, etc. There is a big difference between lying about a time on a message board, and affecting your rankings on the-elite.net.
Thus, I think he should be allowed some leniency on old times, and *from this point onward* be required to prove every time. That is because..
My basic thought is that it is unfair to impose a rule on somebody, then BACK enforce it on old times. It is nearly impossible for somebody to come up with old proof. If they cannot prove something that you just don't trust (such as WRs), use judgement on what to roll back. But his videos and meeting with Boss, IMO, validate him to atleast have the majority of his times remain.
With that said, I was unaware of the 22/43 situation, and TBH that is a complete judgement call. I do feel the majority of Clemens times should be on the rankings right now though.
Anyway, to answer more generally, if somebody gets a fake time on the rankings, they should be required to prove every WR, and possibly every 90+ point time or whatever. If they do that, I see no problem letting a few of their worse PRs slip unproved. However, from that point on, every PR must be proved to be added to or remain on (depending on how bad the cheating was) the rankings. If somebody is lying about multiple times for an extended period of time, and it wasn't just a mental/stress/stupid slip of a time, they should be required to prove every time before it ever hits the ranks.
If a player lies on a MESSAGE BOARD, I feel there is a large distinction to be made. It's time to babysit, do a proof call, and backroll unproven WRs.
That backroll unproven WRs should *never* be a problem though, because I personally feel that every single WR from this point on should be proven within 2 weeks of hitting the rankings.
