well then farther down the list S2 SA :54 is posted as worse then egypt sa :47?

The skill to get 54 is ALOT more demanding then a very mediocre egypt time. :b

Or S2 00 129 is like your 4th worse 00 time......   Yeah cause we all know how bad that untied wr is.   Not a clue:(

Egyptian SA 0:47 is really good.

The main thing about what I said relates to Frigate Agent. I'm happy that you could only find two other holes in my list, though.

*Alex finds five more*

nah egypt 47 isnt very good. you need mediocre speed, and decent at best baron deaths. I mean they may impress you more then others, but that doesnt mean they are hard

Its his opinion you unhappy fucks, get over it.

Besides, EVERYONE knows that 23 speed to get on frigate is fairly easy for almost all of the good players.

Winning the lottery is not difficult, nor is getting struck by lightning.

Thats what I think, if you have a problem with it go cry to your fat mother.

well I think Karl and Tyler have a point. Some times are about persistence, while others are about skill. Sure frigate requires skill, but the fact is any decent player can get 23 speed. Glen Stevens claims a 23 fail where he just missed the bug throw, and i believe him since he seemed sincere, and Im sure he couldnt have played more than 10 hours for it, prolly not even that. But the fact that only one other person ahd 1:18 when Ilari got 1:17 should suggest how insane that record really is. IMO train's shouldnt even be brought up since PAL is obviously advanatged. they just shouldnt be rated at all IMO, maybe i should just take them out of my list. I say we ask Ace how good the Trains are, since he knows the level more than anyone else. IMO we shouldnt rate how good a record is based on the fact that x person sucks at x level , like how people think the Control's are insane when Bryan knows they could all be improved, and Illu and Ace probably have the same speed as Bryan, not to mention Cervone since he got 4:14 as well. Glass strat saves like 2 or 3 seconds i think, so once these people decide to use it 4:11 is in their reach and with persistence any of them could get 4:13 on 00. 3:59 i think is the best since it requires more skill with speed, while sa/00 are more of a life and death situation.

Silo 1:10 is just insane because it requires immense skill but also a ton of guard luck. I think levels that combine skill, guard luck, reaction to random factors should be the best. Some levels are just really consistent for certain players.

And i urge anyone who thinks S2 1:29 is mediocre to play 2 hours of s2 with wr strat, then come back and try telling me that. s2 1:29 is a good record.

23 is an amazing accomplishment, however not amazing skill.  Other world records are less of an accomplishment, but a lot more skill.  It all depends on what you're looking for to rank them.  Frigate 23 deserves all the respect it gets, but is it really the most skillful WR?  Probably not.  The most difficult?  who knows, its untied, and wouter doesn't have other untieds of his own to compare it to.

I think it makes more sense to rank WRs based on skill rather than difficulty/accomplishment/luck etc, but thats all personal opinion.

Definitely not the most skillful, I failed 0:23 at least 15 times in my Frigate heyday.  And I probably played no more than 6 hours total.

It's not one of the most skillful records, but it's clearly the most luck-based record.

Not to take anything away from the fact that 23 is amazing, although i'm only willing to give wouter a head job for his persistance and not for the skill it takes to get it.

Its just a time thing really. I could buy50 million lottery tickets and win, but that doesnt make winning any more difficult. It all comes down to how much you're willing to invest.

the speed isnt that hard, but you have to be very consistent to have a shot at it
you cant get a 23 speed run in each half an hour and try for it, it would take 10 years
you gotta say, wouter was preety consistent when he was trying for it

TheBigBossman007 (23:25:13): haha Frig 23 ranked 15th
WouterJ007 (23:25:24): I dont care about a dumb noob
TheBigBossman007 (23:25:24): guess he's never talked to me
TheBigBossman007 (23:25:29): I have 1 fail ever
TheBigBossman007 (23:25:31): that's it
TheBigBossman007 (23:26:00): and if you need 3000, which doesn't seem unreasonable, then yeah
WouterJ007 (23:26:29): it isnt even luck, games do exactly what theyre programmed to do
WouterJ007 (23:26:43): so if you do exactly what is needed, youd get 23 every run
WouterJ007 (23:27:20): just when you dont know what the exact thing to do is, or its hard to do perfectly, we call it luck, but that just makes it a good time and not bad
TheBigBossman007 (23:27:43): you think the hostages can be manipulated to always escape in the best spot?
WouterJ007 (23:27:57): prolly
WouterJ007 (23:28:03): with pixel perfect doings
WouterJ007 (23:28:37): the game lets them do their things on certain conditions, so you need to know those and how to meet them
WouterJ007 (23:28:58) : so youd need to know the exact way how the game works there
WouterJ007 (23:29:16): but if you dont, you just have to keep trying and hope it goes right
WouterJ007 (23:29:35): and even if you do, it's prolly not humanlike to do it exactly as needed
WouterJ007 (23:30:01): I mean, skill doesnt even exist, since if we were skilled, we could do our potential every single run
WouterJ007 (23:30:34): games are so 'luck' based its not funny
TheBigBossman007 (23:30:50): more like humans make errors each run
TheBigBossman007 (23:30:58) : small or not
WouterJ007 (23:31:15): just some things arent as tight in execution so you can replicate easilier
WouterJ007 (23:31:38) : but what we call big luck factors are in fact just tighter executables
WouterJ007 (23:31:50): thus when it goes right you made a better performance
TheBigBossman007 (23:32:05): I almost think guard reactions would fall into the same category
TheBigBossman007 (23:32:14): like guards will only charge certain distances from you
TheBigBossman007 (23:32:21): or roll
TheBigBossman007 (23:32:55): we still got a lot to learn about manipulating guards
TheBigBossman007 (23:33:16): maybe there is a way to get certain guards to always pull nades
WouterJ007 (23:33:35): there would be, but thats like really tight too
WouterJ007 (23:33:43): close to a few pixels perfect prolly
WouterJ007 (23:33:49): also depending on where guard is
WouterJ007 (23:34:45): and him listing his best times he'd EVER get only shows how nothing he knows about the records
WouterJ007 (23:35:57): and theyre pure lies too, as if he'd know he'd be able to get exactly times ending in 5 or 0 and then being maxed out

Oh, so how many 0:23 fails Bryan has determines how hard the record is? Sorry, I didn't realize that. I guess 2:20/2:19/2:19 Statue is incredible because Wouter only has 2:23/2:22/2:23, and X record is incredible because X really good person struggles with that particular level.

And I am not a dumb noob just because I put a record that a lot of people worship low on my list. I didn't really understand the rest of that AIM conversation, which seemed to consist of speculation on how to manipulate luck, which doesn't really seem relevant.

Hmm...let me analyze this...I say something you disagree with and you say I know nothing because I'm not as good as you and I haven't put the time into getting the WRs. Let me just restate:

From my observations, I can confidently say that at least 10 people have failed 0:23, which essentially means they've gotten the WR; they just didn't get lucky. Factoring pure luck into the equation is impossible and stupid.

If you take out luck then Cradle SA 0:36 is the easiest WR since it only took Wouter, Bryan, myself under 10 tries with a grenade each.

You simply CANNOT remove luck from the equation.  That's just ignorant.

Sure you can, for Frigate Agent. Getting unlucky in no way affects your ability to complete the level. Not getting a nade totally prevents you from doing what you need to do, while the hostages not escaping doesn't keep you from failing 0:23s.

You guys dont even know what you're trying to argue about ffs!

FACT: Everyone agrees that a good time on frigate basically comes down to the speed of the hostages.

FACT: Wouter sucks hairy balls.

FACT: I am the best ever.

No one here is contesting the skill:luck ratio of frigate. I'm fairly certain everyone has a clear idea of what is involved. So.. what is this arguement about you ask? Well.....

Point A: This arguement states that frigate should not be higher on the list because it doesnt require the same amount of skill as most of the other records.

Point B: This arguement states that frigate should be placed higher on the list because the luck needed to achieve the time is much higher than other levels.

Solution: Make 2 fucking lists. One for luck and one for skill, you stupid, whiney fucks.

Also, stop being such bitches.

For the sake of arguement though, the topic states 'Hardest' records. Dictionary.com defines the word hard as meaning.. "not soft; solid and firm to the touch; unyielding to pressure and impenetrable or almost impenetrable". So think about THAT next time you make a topic with such a rediculously subjective title.

yeah but some of those records are insane but people have gotten 1 or 2 seconds slower... now train and aztec 2nd place is 5 seconds slower
