Saw this trick talked about in an old n64 magazine where you repeatedly press start when talking to mishkin to skip dialogue.

My friend has tried it out and it worked.

Is the use of this 'strategy' (albeit dodgy) valid?

It would be, if it worked, but as far as I know some ppl here have tried everything imaginable for speech skipping and never found a way.

Perhaps it's different for Mishkin but as far as I know pausing only delays the next message to come up, then when you stop pausing, the later messages just last a shorter time, i.e. same total time for all messages.

keep in mind pausing lasts 4 seconds. One message is around five seconds. However quick a pause might seem it's only a trick of the eyes I guess, it's not actually saving any time at all. Thus, Eddie is right.

Might be wise to do some real tests with it, like recording and comparing vids and such.

Speech Skipping would be the same as shooting Natalya more then once on Control. If you skip one message, the second message will take longer to get up. Therefor speechskipping doesn't gain time in GE. It works, but actually not ;)

The length of time that an interaction lasts has nothing to do with the txt you see on the screen. Its an internal timer. The time at which each of those different txts appear is based on internal timer, not on the length of time the previous txt was up for.

And that's why you don't need to shoot Nat on Control for the 2nd meeting.

Maybe a PAL/NTSC difference?  Unless you mean one person noticed it was different on their own runs.

Maybe if you shoot Trev after the first message comes up the 2nd comes up faster... or better yet lay a mine under him and blow him up ASAP.

You could try to get a guard to open the safe, I'm not sure if they are even able to, but it's worth a try.

I tried that, that just doesn't happen. :\   If it does ever happen though I know a strat to have a guard right in front of the safe when you arrive, so the WR would go right down to like 0:26 (INSANE)

I thought about doing insane mishkin strafing, shooting out the window, then strafing him back to the safe, but surely itd be extremely difficult/impossible. Maybe someone who is good at strafing him could try, because i cant (as you can see in my 55's lmao)

You need to get at least two guards at the safe door.

You should shot the box at the corner if anything so you do not have to run around it.

you can shoot talking to mishkin, just as long as the bullet doesnt go by him. IE; if hes behind you, you can fire facing away from him as much as u want.

So i can't fucking spell. At least its something i can work on, just ignore my posts if you can't read them.

If nobody wants to talk about facility, then screw it i guess. People have noticed its not all the same amount of time between his messages in the past, and im sure it will be brought up again, someday....

It just binds me how somebody can spell "between"  as "bettewn" , but not only that, but you did it twice, in one sentence! :x

Not really, because the "2nd sentence" was incomplete and thus isnt rendered a true sentence.

I like how the guard opens that first door on the frigate like one in a million times and I was on 007 mode.

And if you get hit in this game at least they say it over again instead of saying 'are you alright' THEN saying over again.  It would be salt in the wound.

huh?

Get some guards to pile up by the safe and find a 60 second time saver for the total time.  Do it.

I really don't think it's possible for them to open the safe, I think someone said above, and I've also tried w/invisibility, w/multiple guards in there, and they would run directly at the safe door but still wouldn't open.

An insane timesaver will be found on Archives, someday. Perhaps "skipping" Mishkin's lines, or find a way to open the safe early, etc. It's one of those levels where you can find a retarded/weird timesaver which no one ever thought about.

Maybe, but certainly not guards opening the safe. Aztec at least makes sense (is he behind this glass door?), but not this (is he in this safe?).
