I don't understand how people can play a game so much but still use such terrible, ergonomically poor controls, which make them play worse. I tell them why don't you use ESDF like FPS gaming default controls originally were, before HL screwed that all up. It gives you much easier access to several keys. The left pinky can now press q, a, and z with ease and doesnt have to strain for bottom row keys like control. Youll find you can be much more agile with your ducking. They say, no, then I have to move my hand over and it feels awkward even though thats the why I type normally. I say, you fool, just keep your hand exactly as it is and move the keyboard over one key and its completely the same. They try to find a flaw in my logic, but cant. They cant stand the thought of change even if it makes sense.
I did however convince one of my TFC clan mates to completely remap all his controls. Once he got used to them he said he said he wished he had always used them as he could play better.
