As I said, there are a lot of tapes (14, exactly) from brazilian people with me right now. And I've borrowed two VCRs that work good, so I started compiling stuff. Everything's going fine, and it'll take a couple of days to put all the stuff in. Anyway, I'm gonna send this tape (or those tapes) to someone who is willing to capture it all.

Since this is going to be a huge brazilian proof, I want someone who will capture in a good quality, and will eventually put music in some of the videos (or maybe tell us a good way of doing it; I think I can figure it out but you guys know much more about that).

I calculated about 250 videos (from what I have now, I expect more stuff from Easton and Phoenix to be coming) that will have to be made. I'm not going to put a lot of repeated PR's, that's dumb. But there will be like one or two good times that are not the PR from the same level. For example, Mitrhil taped a 54 on CI A, and 10 min later there's the 53. I've put both runs on the tape. But I wouldn't put a 55 or 56, and neither more than one 54 (unless if it was very low, or something bizarre happened).

Well, you got it. There'll be a lot of stuff, but decent stuff. Who's up to receive this?

Everyone forgets teh Jimbo. I have very quick broadband and fantastic quality capture card. I'd have all your vids captured in probably 3 nights at the most.

I could probably take it with my incoming dvd recorder, once I know how to go about with it, making vids should be like a whistle in the wind.

Well, his P2 PA WR and his recent Attack Ship WR aren't on this tape for sure. But I asked him to send those ASAP. If what we have here will put him back on ranks, I don't know :P

Also, I was thinking here. Once I sent a tape to Shade, and he said the tape was @#%$ up (check my CI A 53 or AS A 211 vids), but it was playing fine here. I'm afraid of that happening again or something :/ Do you guys know if there any way to prevent that? I'm taping in EP, and the quality is decent, but if there is anything that will @#%$ up the tape, tell me

should always tape in SP that's for sure, but I remember that it wasn't easy to get the best out of your tape(s). it would have to be done by someone who knows what he's doing to increase chances the vids won't be screwed.

If it's a SP/EP issue, I could just split this EP into 3 or 4 SP tapes (will barely lose quality).

I already talked to you on aim, but in case anyone else is reading I'll just point out that once recorder in the low quality EP, you can't 'upgrade' the quality to make it better by recording it to another tape in SP mode or whatever. you have to record in the best quality you can to start out with, you can always downgrade it if it's for some reason necessairy, but not vice versa.

It's not a matter of me not having enough patience to capture these or not willing to capture them all, it's just that my capturing computer sucks. My laptop would pwn and I would possibly have them done within days, 260 would just rape me though. Speaking of rape, Wouter would like a word with you

Yeah, shouldn't be much of a problem to Wouter, I think. For someone who captured like 100 B1 18s, that ammount of PRs would be just a little tougher. Of course it's boring and such, but it'll put 2 excelent players back into the ranks. Slayer is fighting me on brazilian ranks (here), and Easton has a lot of nice PRs (he was owned by those GE newcomers tho, haha

). So I'm asking a bit of kindness here

I won't mind doing it but I'm still kinda figuring out how to best go about with the dvd recorder I got in yesterday (Ilari's). it records in a weird manner, but it works. I made 1 vid, but I'm not too happy about it's quality, but maybe that's because it's from tape. Also, I think I changed the recording quality on the dvd rec to a better one now (best one).

Keep in mind, I also have 21 tapes to go through of my own, which I want to finish before any others.

I'm also looking for a way to edit .VOB files on my computer, such that the output keeps the same quality and can stand on its own, thus having both audio & video. So I can keep originals that don't contain loads of fails and also so I can compress those and share and stuff.

I use a program called TMPGenc Xpress 3.0 for VOB to WMV converting/encoding. It's not a free program but I have a cracked version of it, talk to me on AIM if interested

Edit: Dunno if it works on Windows 98 though. Or what OS did you have again?

well I use '4U DVD Ripper' now (cracked it, not like it matters much, it can do 5 minute vids on limited version), it can do quite a bunch, but has some gay issues and doesn't want to use my settings for the codec I want to use, it will only use it's default setting. so I let it do that, which gives me another HQ-ish file, then I encode that to a more compressed file of the same codec with vdub.

I'm still interested in trying out yours to see the result.

That's not so bad for so many persons. I captured all my PR's in like 2 days (Around 220 vids). Then I got a tape from Axel Zakrisson, around 58 PR's if I can remember right. (Still have 50% to capture).

I don't want to know how many Pr's/Wr's/fails/whatever Wouter has captured. It's probably alot.
