You can call me Vitor. Anyway, take it easy. I'm not calling you a newbie (on the bad.. way), it's more like a newcomer, so I'm trying to advice you here. I'm surely not one of the best players around, but I know what I'm saying.
Goals doesn't work often because, for example, let's say you estipulate 1:30 Dam SA. Then you get it, and felt like you could get at least 1:26. Won't you go for it? Will you just leave that crap time and move on to some other level only because that was your goal?
Giving another example here. I'm currently playing Deep Sea PA, and I've estipulated a "goal" of around 3:20 (currently have 3:24). That's just what I'm thinking now. And if I get, let's say 3:19, and feel like I'm motivated enough for the WR (3:14), I'll give it a shot. Maybe I'll fail, but at least I did what I felt like to.
Now if I had estipulated "goals" like, Deep Sea PA 3:20, then Rescue A 1:28, etc, I'd just stop with something lame and move to the other level, even if I don't want to. This is different from saying like "Someday I wanna have those times: ", just like "dreaming" about it. We all do that.
Anyway, if you just wanna "have fun" and not improve your playing skills at the same rate as everyone else, keep at it, and good luck. I'm not going to bother anymore
