as with every new trick that's new and used to get new untieds, everyone thinks it's insane or so, but once it gets used more and people get used to it, it will eventually become common, and once the good Trev strat is combined, and all other timesaving tactics that weren't used yet, it's easily going lower. yet that doesn't take away that his run was great, if just only for that obj A door part (the rest was not near flawless..) it's always great to see a new trick pulled off for the first time, but imo that only tells us the future will bring us even lower records and that these new ones won't even stand.

So, is 54 possible with a good Trev (if there's any chance of that happening)? That run was VERY smooth, amazing.

54 should be possible with good trev, 53 would be a stretch, would need a fair amount of boosts plus insanity. I doubt anything lower then 53 is possible unless new strat is discovered.

I had a 38 pause on my 56 SA so I guess 35 would = 53

More like 0:54 I think (assuming your 38 was low and this was high 35), but it shows that 0:53 is very possible. Impressive :O

Ah, I have a question. On Doak, why the big turn after talking to him? Can't you go on left strafe and before the turn change to right strafe, see him and then change to left again?

Also, even doing like Rayan on that 35 quitout, why there's a last strafe (right to left) change after Doak, instead of keeping the right strafe?

I think it would be best to do the corridor before him on right, touch him on right, then change to left for the rest.

Some awesome vids here.  I enjoyed Illu's 52 as well as his 4:00.  Rayan's facility vids are super silky.. with that obj A door warp he has atypical amounts of speed sustained for the stairs, which make it look extra sweet.  And Greg's 1:42 was great, especially obj B.  A few gross back boosts overcome in that run.

Well I would definitely guess a :53 is very possible in facility with a "perfect" trev and maybe a new strat for Doak. I am with the others, i think we should right strafe to Doak and then switch to left for the rest, as opposed to a full turn. I am pretty sure all you need to do is get near him to engage in the convo, you dont need to walk up and touch him or anything.

Switching strafes once at Doak just doesn't really work. If you're going full speed the whole time, turning around after meeting Doak is too sharp of a turn in order to keep going normally. The most efficient way it seems to do it is left strafe all the way up to him, then change to right once you meet him until the decoder door, which some people have done before but leads to worse trevs, I think (meaning you need to be in left by the time you reach the decoder door). This said, adding one more strafe change after meeting Doak to get back into left still makes the most sense.

This may be wrong but isn't it best to lookdown as much as possible so the hostages disappear faster?

As far as i know Lookdown/no lookdown has no effect on their speed. The only thing that matters is if you look in their direction or not(?). However, it's still pretty random.

does the speed you reach Doak influences on Trev?
cause if not, so vitor's way seems much better than going on left and then changing 180 to right

I just tested here (w/o Doak), and it seems much faster if you use left strafe, then change to right, touch him and change to left. It's not sharp as it seems.

Then I searched for Doak to check how close you have to be to him. And it's not gay or anything, so those strafes look a little bit faster.

Alex, that qas quite possible the most amazing thing ive ever seen on Frigate or any level in Goldeneye. Absolutely unbelievable hostage speed. But it makes me wonder, does looking away REALLY help? I am thinking it does significantly, because if you look in their plane of view youd think the game would register them, thus making them disappear slower. Also, on wouters run he doesnt look towards them really, he looks towards the copter, then quickly turns around. With this info, I think i can finally get a PR in frigate and end this perpetual gayness.

I love how he thinks getting fast hostages in one run while looking away from the hostages means you will get more consistent hostages on every other run by doing so.

besides, I have had runs where hostages escaped and quitout at 27 after that message. thus perhaps 22 speed, and other stuff with possible 22 speed. but I don't think they'd happen on a completion (different situations going on) and that it's probably only speculation of being faster than 23. and it doesn't really matter anyway unless we can fail 22s.
