First of all the phrase "gamer" is just ridiculous. I am not a gamer. The main factor to Goldeneye is just devotion and how much it relates to your thought process. anyone can get good times, but only a few people can get a bunch of WR's, because only a few people want to devote themselves to it. Depot :26 was my first attempt at a WR, so obviously the strafing skills etc were becoming established at that point. I know its considered the "easiest" WR, but it still requires a lot of luck. I spent most of my day trying to get a 26 run taped and failed. That train shot is just too damn iffy for me =(

yeah, depot 26 wasnt a luck related run. I managed to get quite consistant with the train-shot, now only if i can do that again for SA i might be able to claim 44

Well, yeah i can do the train shot consistently, but will the guards react in time? Nope. I must have the worst luck ever on Depot or something. Whenever they do react in time i get stuck in the door, and when they dont i blaze through the stairway room with 26 pace. Either i am getting excited about them actually reacting and losing concentration (a big problem for me, whenever i get a great time i lose concentration and mess something up), or i have the worst luck ever.

just stop complaining and stick the time. i had to get 26 twice because of taping issues and trust me, its much easier if you just put your head down and battle it out. still, 26 is balls so yeah, just get the sucker

jeez I can't imagine how you'd ever get all the wr's if you're getting stressed out from playing depot agent. basically any other level requires more 'luck' to get the WR.

Yeah, I just really hate depot agent. Theres too many ways to get slowed down like a tenth of a second and if you do its all over. I am just going to start Depot SA and 00A today most likely. I prefer levels that actually involve some strategy, as opposed to just strafing and pressing B at the perfect time to open a door (archives is prolly going to be even worse than depot, so Im gonna save it for last lol). I just am sick of depending on the guards reacting to the train shot fast enough.

like i said before even if all i can prove (by video) is a depot :27 i dont care i mean if i can get facility :47 or dam: 53 or even caverns 1:03 sometime i dont really care about depot any more. its a common record anyway, and wont be a huge deal if i cant prove it (i still know i got it=p)

also..i tend to do better if i dont get stressed out. When i got depot :26, it only took me 15 minutes at most and it was right after i got done speed running dam and facility or something. Ive noticed, the less i try so hard, the more it goes better. i just need to stop trying so hard, and use feeling to just get it done and let it slide into place. I just need to calm down, and relax.

one thing though, the audio that changes at 1:40/41 sounds like it would have fit perfectly for when you exit out into the large room - 'kind of like a leap of faith.' this is me wanting to be arty and technical, if i could get the audio i would experiment but because its your vid and everyone probably has it now then :smokin

Going the long way is probably the best strat for doing it no BA. I don't know how Bryan did it, but when I was fucking around on the level a while ago, that's the only way to avoid the ar33 guard being right outside the vents like he is on agent. That guy almost always hits you at least once and stuff. Plus, it was a sweet run anyway. GJ.

Wait, how come Ryan's facility :46 doesnt coutn for his best time? I mean why doesnt it say "best time :45"? Using cheats eh? So if you used cheats , how the hell can you say :46 is your best time?

yes and for all we know it could be the 'Time: 0:46' part that was glitched, since it wasn't saved. and unless someone can prove why it happens (by explaining source code..) and it appears that it doesn't save the time unfairly, it shouldn't count. who knows the time part is taken at a certain time, THEN one of the incomplete objective completes (still before the completion screen shows up) THEN game checks time (which then is 47..) to compare with best time and thus would really be 47.
