54 seems doable but would require something like this:

No stucks at boxes in the beginning, fast slap, boost through first door or possibly an early one after that, Natalya door like Wouter's 56's, normal double doors(i'm pretty much 100% on that one anyways so), door below stairs like my 54 TAS, then last 2 doors like normal(not strafing into wall on last one).

Can't be too difficult to pull off. The problem is the boost and natalya door i suppose.

Btw Ryan, what method do you use for the door below stairs?

what is wouter doing that other people are doing differently on his natalya door? looks like everyone elses to me. you just open it and go strafing away. But after comparing vids Id say shooting and having a guard open the double door is definitely faster. But that says a lot when people who shoot to open the door struggle with 55. If it really does save that much time.... then who knows.

Also, I am pretty sure left strafing both doors to mishkin is faster, i do it and it definitely feels faster than what some people's 55's look like.

Also, doesnt everyone briefly switch to right strafe as they enter that door after the stairs?

I dunno, link me to this 54 TAS and I'll tell you if it's the same. I do it like in my 55 SA really, just go out a bit so I don't run against the wall so much.

I try to open the door and right strafe in before the door is open all the way, like strafe around the edge of the door....probably harder to do on 1.1 since turns are slower, though, but it definitely saves a bit of time if you go fast enough.

Id like to see the TAS as well.

Well Wouter uses a smoother method i think for Natalya's door, instead of going all the way to the wall he does a nice turn and open the door at the same time which is probably a little faster than going against the wall.

And i'm not really sure if opened double doors gains any time,
the lag created usually fucks up your strafing pretty bad and you loose alot of time by it. Plus a good double door is really fast.

I think i may have come close to 54 last night, well closer than ever. I had a run that sounded very low by the music, i can pwn that door after the stairway pretty good now. with 2 boosts i know i can do it.

this is getting stupid. ive had a few 1:05's with no warp which says i can do it, but when i warp and lock i get 1:04. this is happening, it has to!

It really helps if you warp the ladder in slight look down. that way you will be facing the first lock right off the bat, and can just shoot it ASAP. Dont hesitate either. just keep trying till you happen to hit each lock right away, well thats why i did for my 1:03 anyway. Some say locks are skillfull, but i think its like 40% skill and 60% luck.

more like 40% knowledge, it's not like you need much of skill to look around and get to the coordinates of locks.

So what knowledge do you need? Its just experience. There isnt a book or anything that tells you how to shoot the locks, you just feel it out and figure it out for yourself.

i would say 100% skill for the lock. because nothing is stopping you from missing them other than your own mistakes. the warp is about 50/50 for me, but i have the feeling that no warp only loses 1.75 seconds or something. *keeps trying*

actually that's false. that would be like saying noone here has skill because noone here can get the same locks each run. it's a timing issue, and since we humans are imperfect we can't do it perfectly and thus it's basically luck. you have to time exactly how long to press the buttons to go to the next lock, now the exact instant it's there, and actually go to its coordinates well.

Exactly. Basically i aim at each lock as fast as possible and shoot right away, if the kf7 misses it misses, if it makes it it makes it. thats why i think surface 103 is pure luck. Even with the sniper really. actually the sniper is even faster if you were to go all out and just shoot without hesitating.

Two backs at the end so 0:2 ratio, also knockers was up before pause, so i only got to terminal right as i dl'ed the data and thus no build up of speed. Had to detour around guards as well. Shoulda been 1:07 =/

First run had the guards opening the mainframe just as i left glass and therefor i prolly lost 2 secs.

Anyways, i had to change the stuff i do by the glass in order to get a descent chance of glass openings. It seems i have to do that every new session becouse the strat that worked one day never works the next day.

Dam Agent :54 x like 60 at least. One last night was so close to 53 it was insane. i had a slight stuck on the stairway before the exit because i turned too late and that is probably why i didnt get 53. Oh well.

like, I really know you want an untied, but the thing with an untied (or your first few at least) is that you will @#%$ KNOW you're getting this untied. You won't play anything except the level you're gonna untie, and stuff like that. I dunno just seems like you have trouble focusing on one level (not like I don't) but it's hard to get untieds like that.

By skiping the kf7 and cutting the right angle around the guard you can get a boost somewhat decently I find. Could help if your really going for 102

HHAaha, Nah Im not going for 1:02 really, i mean i thought about it but its insanity and probably cant be done without a boost since my 1:03 with sniper had insane locks. I have only really been playing for 53 lately. hm i actually think i tend to focus a lot on one level. thing is, an untied on any level except surface 2 is insane right now at this point in time. times are getting so good now, you need insane hours or skill to pull it off. Im just focusing on getting at least a few more decent tied records before i go for anything quite insane. 1:02 might be a possibility in the future though considering how easy 103 is.

Try the no BA strat the agent way, blow the left console, it wasn't as hard to survive as I thought. Well I had runs that were completely impossible that way, if you get backed by that lazer dude then you probably won't make it. Though on the runs you can survive you can survive it probably as easily as the other way, I survived a 1:44 this way, sometimes I almost thought once you get a lucky run it's almost easier the left way, who knows.
